Description

The linear filter creates an even balance of sound coming through the earplugs, no matter what part of the spectrum that sound is from. Where some earplugs will mute dull high-pitched shrieks or deep bass beats, this filter will keep them intact relative to other sounds. In other words, you can expect even performance across the sound spectrum. More attenuation in the higher frequencies also has a disadvantage. The music doesn’t sound exactly the same as when you’re not using earplugs. Still, the difference is mainly audible to people who really listen to the music carefully. You hear the low tones a bit louder relative to the high ones. That’s why the Alpine PartyPlug Pro Natural earplugs have linear attenuation filters. They attenuate roughly the same amount of decibels over all frequencies. This causes a minimal distortion of the music. In other words: you hear the music in exactly the same way, but at a lower volume. This graph displays the difference in attenuation well. Overall, the PartyPlug Pro earplugs have something for everybody and should be a safe universal choice for most concert fanatics. However, the one-size-fits-all approach of their ear tips may not work for everyone. Those with larger ear canals might find that the warping affects the quality or doesn’t give the fit they want. If you are looking for a low-cost set of earplugs that are sure to protect your ears without affecting the natural sound of the music, then you may want to turn to famous noisemakers, Fender. This legendary guitar manufacturer's Fender Musician Series earplugs offer a whopping 27dB of noise reduction at an unbeatable price. The Alpine Partyplug is not a good choice for sleeping. The attenuation is too weak and the stiff stem of the plug is uncomfortable. Shooting

The Alpine Partyplug is not a good choice for motorcycling. Foam earplugs provide more protection and are more comfortable to wear. Travel The sound volume is mostly about 90 to 100 decibels at outside stages. Inside a festival tent or concert hall, this would be between 95 and 110 (or more) decibels. How damaging are these amounts of decibels? You start to risk suffering hearing damage if you remain in an environment with noises of 80 decibels for longer than 8 hours. With each 3 decibels, the amount of time you can stay in that environment is cut in half. This is because with each 3 decibels, the sound becomes twice as loud. This means you can stay in an environment with 83 decibels for 4 hours without the risk of suffering hearing damage, in 86 decibels just 2 hours, etc. Taking into account the average noise at a festival, this means you risk suffering hearing damage within just 5 minutes! Today we look at how Concert Earplugs made for festivals and raves prevent hearing damage without lessening the experience at live music events. With years of experience working at raves and festivals T he Rave Cave team have tried and tested many earplug products. We are proud to work with the world's leading earplug manufacturers including Alpine Hearing Protection, EarPeace& Vibes as a UK trusted distribution partner. Alpine PartyPlug Pro Natural earplugs have linear filters, with an average attenuation of 21 decibels. The sound level of a concert or festival is usually between 90 and 103 decibels. As such, the Alpine PartyPlug Pro Natural earplugs reduce the sound to below 80-82 decibels. You can safely spend the entire day (8 hours) at this level.

Attenuation (Europen Standard)

The provided filters offer varying levels of noise reduction, with the bronze reducing the level by 16 dB, the silver by 19 dB and the gold lowering the level the most by 22 dB. For the purposes of this review, we opted for the gold filter, as the noise level in the rehearsal space was pretty intense. When it comes to earplugs, comfort has to be one of the most critical factors for us – well, apart from noise reduction, but we'll get to that. As we typically wear plugs for upwards of four hours in a rehearsal room, the slightest discomfort is amplified dramatically by the time you near the end of the jam session. Linear or flat attenuation. You might have seen these terms used in relation to earplugs. But what do they actually mean? The meaning of both terms is the same. It is a property of filter earplugs which are perfect for listening to music. Thanks to linear attenuation filters, you hear the music as it was meant to be heard. They just reduce the volume to a safe level. Ideal for musicians and festival- and concertgoers. The PartyPlug Pro Natural earplugs have this type of filter. We must say the Alpine earplugs did a great job at retaining the overall clarity of the sound in the room. While some of the frequencies lost a little definition – mainly the low mids – overall, the balance was pretty outstanding. The noise reduction was pretty spectacular, too. We were using the gold filters, which dropped the volume by 22 dB, and this made the volume much more manageable and comfortable. Damaged cilia do no longer pass information through to the brain, deteriorating your hearing. It can also occur that they pass incorrect information, such as a buzz or a ring (tinnitus), you become over-sensitive to certain sounds (hyperacusis), hear sounds distorted (distortia) or hear differently with both ears (diplacusis). A temporary buzz or ring in your ears after visiting a festival or concert already indicates damage to the cilia. The chance of it becoming permanent increases each time you overburden your hearing again.

Alpine PartyPlug Reusable Ear Plugs - Noise Reduction

Deep within the ear lays the cochlea. Within the cochlea, you find small nerve cells with thousands of tiny little cilia attached. As we get older, those cilia get worn out. That is why many elderly people don’t hear well. That is what we call age-related hearing loss. Too loud noises can also cause damage to the cilia. This can happen instantly after hearing an extremely loud noise. The damage can also be caused by overburdening your ears, when you are exposed to noises over 80 decibels too long or too often. The cilia do not recuperate from this damage by themselves. And to this day, there have been no medical means discovered that can repair damaged cilia either. But then I was taking a look at the numbers they have available, and for the MusicSafe they claim these level of reductions: Személyre szabott hirdetések Ezeknek a sütiknek köszönhetően mi és partnereink az Ön vásárlásai, viselkedése és preferenciái alapján releváns és személyre szabott termékeket és szolgáltatásokat tudunk Önnek felkínálni. Concerts, Raves and Festivals are the best, there is nothing better than going to see your favourite acts live on the big stage with amplified sounds. Unfortunately long exposure to sounds over 85 decibels (dB) can cause hearing loss. Gigs tend to be about 115 dB or more, depending where you’re standing. The louder the sound, the shorter amount of time it takes for noise-induced hearing loss to occur. The Loop Experience Pro Earplugs come as a 14-piece set with many parts to mix and match. At any average festival, you can suffer permanent hearing damage within just 5 minutes. Have you ever heard a buzz or ring in your ears after going to a festival or concert? This is already an indication of hearing damaging. Once you notice you’ve suffered hearing damage, it’s already too late. The damage is irreversible. So if you care about your hearing and about listening to music, you’ll wear earplugs. Still, most people don’t. What are the risks of listening to loud music? And how can you prevent hearing damage as a festival or concert visitor, without having to compromise in terms of music experience? We’ll start at the beginning. Yes, absolutely! Even after listening to loud music just once, you can already permanently damage your hearing. Remember, you have a risk of suffering hearing damage at any average festival or concert after just 5 minutes! Once the music starts ask yourself if you think the music is too loud. If it's too much consider moving to a quieter area further away from the speakers or stage. I t’s important to give your ears a break from the noise, even if it’s just for a little while. This is especially true if you aren’t wearing ear protection. Even a short break can give your ears time to rest and help prevent long-term hearing damage. What is the difference between concert earplugs and regular earplugs? It's safe to say that you aren't short of options if you are looking for a quality set of earplugs. There is pretty much a set out there to suit every budget. That said, it does mean there are many sub-par options on the market.

Add to that the high-fidelity acoustic filters these earplugs utilize that allow concert-goers to enjoy music clearly while preserving their hearing. This means you’ll still hear the music at a reduced dB rating, but without the muffled ‘blurry’ quality foam earplugs give. Moreover, we really like the EarDial companion app– available on the Play Store and App Store– for its straightforward approach to ear safety. Okay, if you lose one of the plugs at a concert, you could change to the other set of filters – for example, go from gold to silver – but we would have loved to have an extra filter to go with the extra plug. Admittedly this is a tiny complaint, and we guess you just need to make sure you don't misplace one of your earplugs!

One of their highlights is the low 11 dB NRR rating. While this could be a negative for some, they make the perfect earplugs for concerts that are just a tad too loud. Update summarising my replies below: I ended up buying both and I'm fairly happy with that choice. I'd say with the MusicSafe ones I can notice that it attenuates higher dB more. A couple of times when DJing the bass has sounded a bit heavy compared to the mids and highs, but if I pull the earplug out you can tell that's not the case. I'm quite happy with this as I already have mild tinnitus and I really don't want it to get worse, so I am happy to distort the sound a bit for a bit of extra safety for my ears. Also being able to change the attenutation levels is quite nice - the quietest level doesn't dampen too much, so you can still have the music quite quiet, and just protect your ears a bit from any high frequencies. I probs wouldn't wear these when going to a club or festival though. In that case I want to be able to hear the music properly.
