There is quite a lot of insight about his time in the band Geordie. This is the band that he was singing out the front of when Bon Scott and Angus Young first saw him and some surprising stories about his own time in the military. Warm, vivid, evocative, life-affirming and often laugh-out-loud funny, The Lives of Brian tells the story of one of our most well-loved performers in his own inimitable words.

Growing up in Dunston, Newcastle after the Second World War, Brian Johnson lived a quiet childhood. Then he saw Little Richard on the BBC and it hit him instantly: he was going to be a singer. As far as my writing is concerned; it was originally no more than a case of give it a try and see how it goes. The first chapter of my debut Captain Shoelace story was so well received by friends and family that I was encouraged to see it through to the end. Big hearted, touching, indomitable and always laugh-out-loud funny, The Lives of Brian is the story of one of the world's best-loved performers, told in his own inimitable voice. It's been a rollercoaster of a life, throughout which Brian's kept his feet firmly on the ground, never losing touch with his roots. The Lives of Brian is the literary twin of a classic AC/DC album - wild material woven together seamlessly, and always leaving you wanting more' Hot PressIt’s been a rollercoaster of a life, throughout which Brian’s kept his feet firmly on the ground, never losing touch with his roots. It wasn't me. I didn't do it. And I'll never do it again!' says Brian Johnson of The Lives of Brian . . . This is Brian's story growing up in Newcastle, Northern England. He talks about his family, his Father's efforts in the war, leaving school and searching for employment, first girlfriends, and a myriad of dead-end bands that he formed or joined in his early years. In the UK, the book will be published byPenguin Michael Joseph, a division ofPenguin Random House, by publishing directorRowland White. It will be published simultaneously in America byDey Street Books, an imprint of theWilliam Morrow GroupatHarperCollins.

Brian has lived many lives within his lifetime, but somehow he's kept his feet on the ground, never losing touch with his roots. Brian has broken the mold. One of the best autobiographies I've ever read! His writing is compelling and hilarious (no ghostwriter here, he wrote it in longhand), and it's a gold mine of windows into his pre-fame life, all written so sincerely. Newcastle Brown Ale. I've been able to do some not very good watercolour pantings and some cooking which has turned out to be surprisingly edible.

First revealed in April 2021, Johnson's memoirs were originally slated for release on October 21, 2021: no explanation has been given for the delay. The son of a British army sergeant-major and Italian mother, Brian grew up in Dunston, Tyne and Wear, as it emerged from the shadow of the Second World War. Then he saw Little Richard on the BBC and it changed the course of his life. Johnson is known for his distinctive singing voice and strong Geordie accent. In July 2014, he was awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of Music by Northumbria University in the city of Newcastle in recognition of his significant contribution to the music industry.

Remembering the world was not long out of the second world war when young Brian was born so like many stories of the day, Brian's childhood was a fairly dismal and depressing one. A real show of what it is like to never give up and follow your dreams.
