You can also enhance Diamant by introducing new elements such as extra targets on the board that offer specific rewards when landed upon; power-ups (such as limited immunity from guard capture); additional pieces like knights and bishops; or even a larger playing field if desired! Having new elements gives players more choices and actions to select from throughout their game which results in entertainingly unpredictable outcomes. The game board represents your camp, connected to each of the entrances to the Tacora Cave by five paths. Each entrance corresponds to a round of the game. Then decide if you want to return to camp to store your treasures, or if you prefer to continue your expedition towards the depths of the cave... and unknown perils! They indicate to other players that you decided to return to camp and put your Precious Stones in your Chest. The Relic card stays on the cave path and nothing happens. Go directly to the "Players' Decision" Phase. The card isn't worth any points until a player leaves the cave with the card in their possession. Once all players have made a decision, reveal a new Expedition card and lengthen the path into the cave. Barricade Tiles allow you to follow the progression of the game. They are numbered 1 to 5 and close the entrances to the Tacora Cave, one after the other, after each round.Rubies that you gather during the Expedition are put next to your Chest and can be lost. It's only when you return prudently (or shamefully) to camp that you can put your Precious Stones safely in your Chest. Example: When the first Trap card - a Snake - is revealed, nothing happens and the expedition continues. Zatu has an excellent range of games and for most of them the best prices too. Delivery is always fast and I have never received a game in bad condition. 10/10 would recommend.

They indicate the traps that surprise you in the cave. Beware of giant spiders, snakes, lava pits, rolling boulders, and battering rams.

Players must also bear in mind that each carriage has its own unique movement pattern. Some carriages are able to cross more than one diamond space at a time, while others have more strictly defined paths; learning how each piece moves will give you an advantage over your opponents since being able to predict your opponent’s next move becomes much easier when you know what options are available to them at any given time. Additionally, since capturing opponents’ pieces reduces the total number of pieces on their side of the board; thus having less mobility options left for them ” this means actively looking for chances to eliminate foe’s pieces should play an important role in tactical decisions too! On the path out of the cave, gather all Rubies that were left on Treasure Cards. If multiple players are leaving at the same time, they equally share all remaining Rubies. If there are any Rubies left after this, leave them in the cave on any Treasure card. The main mechanic behind Diamant is movement and territory control. Players use single pieces called stones, as well as multiple piece combinations called carriages, to navigate their way across the middle line of diamonds and reach the central diamond first. One key strategy for winning involves deliberately setting up obstacles that limit your opponent’s ability to move their pieces aroundthe board. These barriers can be formed from either a large number of stones, so that you possibly “trap” them with little room to maneuver, or by placing two carriages side-by-side with no corresponding stone in between them ” an obstacle known as a double wall. Multiple walls can be created if desired and these are often an effective way of isolating an enemy piece and ultimately eliminating it from play entirely. If you fall into a trap, you will flee towards the exit, leaving all of your treasures behind you, and return to camp empty-handed. and with shaking knees!

Put all of the Rubies you gathered during the expedition in your Chest. Everything in your Chest is safe until the end of the game. Decision Cards allow you to show other players if you want to go deeper into the cave or return to camp.

These artefacts can only be collected by one player when they leave and one player only. They cannot be split at all, so when a beefy artefact comes up, do you leave to grab it? What if someone tries to leave with you? Then no one gets it. Every card that is flipped creates a great dynamic around the table. Players are yelling greedy at each other, everyone is laughing and it is a lot of fun, even when you make misjudgments. Components Gems and Chests The goal in Diamant is simple. Throughout five rounds, collect as much treasure as you can and hopefully have more than the other players by the end of the game. Sounds easy right? A few clever wrinkles in this game make getting out alive and laden with treasure, fraught with drama and indecisiveness. Diamant Board Game is a wonderfully exciting and challenging game that can easily be modified to make it even more intriguing. With these variations and modifications, the game will be more complex and provide an even deeper level of enjoyment for players. I mentioned the chests earlier. There is one for each of the eight players in different colours and emblazoned with the name of a trepid explorer on the front. They are well made and really add something to the game. The feeling is great when you escape the depths, heavy with loot and pour it all into your little chest. Plus it's fun watching everyone shake them between rounds to gauge who is winning. Brilliant fun.
