Each Classic and DJ modes have a separate 'Party' mode where it is the Pass It mode for the Bop It. During this game, a "Pass It" command will be issued randomly. Later, JoeyVFX also did another mashup of “…Baby One More Time” with “Never Gonna Hit You” on “Misheard”.

The newer models require pressing the Bop It and Pull It buttons and pressing the reset button or re-inserting the battery. The newer test modes say "Score 20." on the Bop It Shout and "Score 28." on Bop It XT. In Bop It XT, you can test the scoring by pressing Pull It and Twist It and reset or battery. if you hold Pull It and bop sides of the Bop It button it will go in to test mode. If you press any of the 6 commands (including shake it) it will play the sound as if you were in a regular game. Then, after that if you hold Pull it and both sides of the bop it button you will here a beep. then pull it. After about a minute with the Shake It turned on you will here a series of sounds.If you turn the shake it off the beep will start immediatley. Newer Bop It's also beep in the test mode. In this mode, the Reverse and Repeat commands are activated and in the DJ mode, the game starts off with 3 commands and ends at 6. However, in the English version of Bop It Beats, the game glitches out on the six command pattern. In this mode, the gameplay is similar to DJ Expert but instead the repeat command is never issued. All voice commands are replaced with sound effects and the player is encouraged to follow the light patterns that the game produces. This is a freestyle mode where the player can do anything they like. The player can press any button on the game unit and it will play a sound.

A test mode is a hidden mode in an electronic game which the manufacturer uses to test the lights, voice and sound effects of the electronic game. Every Bop It game has a test mode. For testing Bop It Original, Bop It Extreme and Bop It Extreme 2, the Twist It and Bop It buttons need to be hold and a battery needs to be inserted. For the Bop It Extreme 2 test mode to work, the volume control needs to be at high. Play the Classic, Classic Party, DJ, DJ Party or Remix game by yourself or with friends. Sometimes you'll be looking for the high score, and sometimes you'll be cooperating with everyone to get the high score together. In the rookie level, only the Bop It, Spin It, and Scratch It commands are issued. The Reverse command is issued later on in the level on Classic but never issued in DJ.

In the Classic mode, the player is given one command at a time and she/he scores a point on completing it. The scoring works quite differently to other Bop It games as she/he is given a 'random score' at the end of the game. Most players score anything between 238-264. If the player completes round 4 of the entire game and messes up on the last round, the game unit will say to the player "Master DJ in the club!" after messing up.
