Description

Moving along the different countries in Europe the book has book around book premise with a key dedication towards the actual historical events. If you are a fan of stories set during WWII that have some strong characters and very memorable scenes then this is one for you. The notes in his possession declare Hitler unfit for office – a secret that could destroy the Fuhrer’s reputation, and change the course of the war if exposed. The Paris Notebook was about family, love, friendships, loyalty, taking risks, determination, betrayal, exposure and dedication.

German Katja does and the exciting premise of this beautifully written novel is how that secret is the true and very unstable state of the furthers mental (ill) health. I have read some of her books over the years and I have yet to read a book by her that I haven’t enjoyed! Full of drama and tension, as a notebook with revealing details about Adolf Hitler is hunted and hidden, tracking between Paris and Hamburg just before the war starts.

Katja secures a role as a typist for Dr Viktor, a man who knows intimately how unbalanced Hitler is and makes it his mission to collate all the information from previous diagnostic records. Historical fiction devotees will flock to this romantic thriller superimposed over real settings and events of WWII… this is a captivating story based on authentic artifacts from the era . Katja is such a strong inspiring character who is willing to go to great lengths to do what is right.

The Paris Notebook' unfolds at a deliberate, slow pace, offering a fresh perspective with its exploration of Hitler's medical records from World War I, a relatively lesser-known and innovative concept. Viktor, one of the doctors who had interviewed her, subsequently hired Katja as his personal assistant. Entrusted with the transcription of a notebook, she slowly realises that the clinical notes she’s working on have an immense importance – the doctor treated Adolf Hitler following a gas attack in WW1, and they hold major secrets about his mental health that, if shared, could have a considerable value in changing the course of history. The characters felt like they belonged in this universe and I enjoyed the romance aspect of this book. Harris, full of real facts, and with elements of suspense, mystery, with so many twists and turns and I certainly didn’t predict the ending. Setting up the characters in such a strong manner, they have created a lasting impact on her audience, with many readers eagerly awaiting the next installment of the Thomas Silkstone franchise. Dr Viktor hires Katja Heinz as his personal assistant to type Adolph Hitlers patient notes so that he may give the transcript to a publisher who will tell the world about Adolph Hitler before his power is absolute.

If this notebook was real, if used in the right way early on might have made a big difference at the start of WW 2. I love a war story and lov And the final bit of the story just seemed too improbable - which spoiled it a bit for me unfortunately. It was there that Katja met Sylvia Beach, the owner and Daniel Keenan, a journalist originally from Ireland. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. We meet her as her boss, psychiatrist Dr Viktor tasks her with typing up those notes - the Paris Notebook of the title. When it’s confirmed who the patient is and the plans for the transcribed notes, Katja realizes that she’s in too deep to simply walk away.
