A hard-wearing paint that’s suitable for walls, ceilings, kitchens and bathrooms. The Layland Trade Acrylic Eggshell Paint provides great protection and can be used in high-traffic or busy areas of the home. A tough, cleanable emulsion with a smooth, even eggshell finish that protects against scrubs, scuffs and stains for ultimate durability. For use on interior walls, ceilings. When it comes to application there isn’t a great deal of difference between how to paint a room with eggshell and satin. They have very similar viscosity, but this can vary from brand to brand.

Breatheasy technology is a key feature of this paint. Exclusive to Crown, Breatheasy symbol ensures the product is solvent-free and safe to use in poorly ventilated spaces. But this isn’t the only feature we like. It is suitable for doors, windows, skirting boards, furniture, cupboards, kitchen cabinets, wall panels and radiators. Can be applied directly onto bare or previously painted wood, metal, melamine and MDF surfaces without using a Primer first. Ultra-durable and resists everyday stains and scratches. Eggshell paint is named after the paints resemblence to the surface of an Egg when fully dry, it provide a subtle low-level sheen of which the finish is said to minic the touch and feel of an Eggshell. In terms of coverage, a litre of paint is sufficient for up to 12m²/litre. The product is supplied in 750ml and 2.5L tins, allowing you to minimise costs and waste.Walls and woodwork in high-traffic areas like bathrooms, kitchens, hallways and stairways can also benefit from the advantages of a soft sheen paint. A product that we really liked is Leyland Trade Acrylic, a water-based paint for interior walls, ceilings and wood. Dulux Trade Satinwood combines the elegant mid-sheen finish of Satinwood paint with the convenience of an oil-based wood and metal paint in a single winning formula. This solvent-based product provides a tough and durable coat that can withstand repeated washing and will enhance the beauty of your home. There isn’t a great deal of difference in the sheen between eggshell and satin, but as always when choosing a finish for your paint project, it’s a matter of personal choice. The Johnstone’s Trade Acrylic Eggshell paint provides a superior and durable finish that can be applied to ceilings, wood, walls and metal.

Use a paint in neutral shades if the room is small or furnished in traditional style. Contemporary choices include ivory, light grey, silver and cream. The moisture resistant properties of the Leyland paint means that this paint is suitable for wetroom areas around the home such as the bathroom and kitchen. So you can now get an eggshell finish in the bathroom. Eggshell is great in period homes and works well on woodwork and walls, while satin is typically suited to a more modern home. Where to Use Satin and EggshellDulux Simply Refresh Multi-surface makes it easy to refresh or transform your home with a beautiful range of colours with a modern Eggshell finish. This paint will bounce and reflect light throughout a room while still being low-sheen. It can bring a traditional, elegant look to any room and has become increasing popular for walls and ceilings within the home. The mildly glossier finish of satin makes it slightly easier to clean and maintain than eggshell, but in reality there isn't a great deal of difference. Satin is easier to wipe clean while eggshell typically needs a little more effect to clean. This product is covered by the Dulux Promise, our promise that our paint will give you the perfect colour with a uniform finish and the coverage stated, or we'll replace it. What is Eggshell paint? A question that we get asked alot and there are not stupid questions here on DIY Boss. Just helpful advice and no judgement.

Eggshell and satin are both commonly used on woodwork such as doors, windows, and skirting boards to get a low sheen and forgiving finish. Application: Brush, roller or spray. STIR THOROUGHLY BEFORE USE. Surfaces should be mist coated with an appropriate Dulux Trade product: Dry Wall Primer Sealer on bare surfaces and Diamond Matt or Vinyl Matt as a thinned first coat on previously painted surfaces. The normal finishing process is 2 full coats of Dulux Trade Diamond Eggshell, however for significant colour change additional coats may be required. To achieve the most durable and lower sheen finish on wood, we recommend using Dulux Trade Diamond Satinwood.
