The two pushers at the right side (top right and bottom right) are used to operate the chronograph. The top pusher is used to start and pause the chronograph while the bottom pusher can be used to reset it. Within is just a cheap Japanese quartz movement, which is nothing fancy, but does provide accurate time. There is also a butterfly style deployant on the strap, to keep it in good condition for longer. And, you’ll look very impressive when using it. Now, the slide rule bezel might be a bit complicated at first, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll be able to perform calculations fast. The chronograph has a measurement of around 60 minutes and it can run up to 12 hours in a matter of 1/5 seconds. It has a deployment type clasp that has a push-button and it can work in up to 200m of water since it is water-resistant. Key Features/Benefits of Seiko Flightmaster SNA411 An Aviation Watch with a Busy Dial

The Seiko SNA411 is a highly functional, impressive looking timepiece. It reminds me of a Breitling style watch but without cost. Overall I’d say it’s quite a nice watch if you like these busier dial designs. Outside of the size increase, it certainly looks like a Navitimer, with a coin-edge bezel and similar overall shape. Most variants from this brand tend to harbour more gold accents, seemingly in an attempt to look more expensive or flashy. Nicely, the date window does integrate very well with the dark dial; something that cannot be said for the original Breitling. The ‘Edifice’ line by Casio offers some of the most extreme value for money wristwatches on the market. I recently reviewed another in this range and was blown away by the level of quality and finishing for such an aggressively priced piece. This means you can just wear this watch when swimming or scuba diving without the need to change to your diver watch. How cool is that? But of course for very deep dives I would recommend an ISO 6425 certified diver watch for your own safety =p With that said, the bracelet of the Seiko Flightmaster does the job, but it has some rattle to it and does not feel 100% robust

Most Sinn models come fitted with an ETA Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph movement, which is considered one of the very best movements available, or alternatively the highly regarded Sellita SW500; which is essentially a clone of the former (Sellita used to make movements under contract for ETA). Pushing the bottom pusher again will make the seconds hand to catch up to the time. I doubt most of SNA411’s owners will use this in their daily life but one thing for sure the sweeping motion of the seconds hand catching up to the time is very beautiful. The 200m water resistance is something most people like to see on a more serious sports style watch. The 200m rating makes this suitable for professional marine activity, serious surface water sports, and skin diving. In this post, we are reviewing the Seiko Flightmaster SNA411P1 and looking at it up close in detail to understand why this watch is so popular.

This is the very least I would spend on a homage watch, this Corgeut chronograph is an even closer Chinese copy of the Navitimer design, when compared to the Jaragar. They appear to only offer this in two colourways, neither offering the two tone ‘panda’ designs, but aside from that it’s an exact clone of the A13324. Now, the flight alarm is a 12-hour alarm that goes off with a beep (much like what you’d expect from a digital watch). There’s no vibration or snooze function like your smartphone, and the alarm is silenced with a push of a button. Slide Rule The second half features a selection of watches that clearly pay homage to the Breitling, but add some more unique design cues and individual flair to the mix. Enjoy. Couple things that may turn off some people. The chronograph buttons. They have a screw feature where you have to unscrew the rings around the chrono buttons if you need to use the chronograph or set and use the alarm. A bit of an inconvenience but I got over it. I've been wearing this watch for almost 2 weeks straight and I'm not complaining.Even though the usability and functionality of the Seiko SNA411 can’t be denied, a watch these days still has to look good and feel good. The dial on this wristwatch is intense. The combination of reflective and raised surfaces, a moving cluster of the watch’s sub-dials and the slightly-domed crystal make the dial great and interesting to look at. The wristwatch is also shinier and more sparkly than its pictures would suggest, making it the best choice for formal and for business wear. I bought it as my “math watch”, whatever that means. I intended it to be the watch I wear when speccing out and designing my tiny-home builds, or even performing organic chemistry in my fantasy (for now) home laboratory. My mental addition and subtraction skills are excellent, and I’m fast at longhand, but with the Flightmaster on my wrist, I’m an unstoppable math whiz. I’ve only actually needed the slide rule a handful of times, but I can’t express how pleased I was to use it. To achieve this, Seiko uses screw down on the watch’s crown and pushers. It does not really make any sense to give an aviation watch a 200 m water resistance rating but who cares right? However, the so-so bracelet is not an issue since you can easily switch the bracelet for a strap, which many owners of this watch tend to do. It both looks great but also improves comfort. Seiko Flightmaster SNA411 specifications

The bezel takes up a lot of room on the watch. In fact, the dial is only 32mm, whereas the bezel takes up most of the rest of the space. It was invented in 17th century and comprises two logarithmic scales. One of these scales can be moved or slide – hence the name slide rule. It is used for various calculations such as: The size of this watch is something that needs to be experienced and may be misleading on paper. The lugs of this watch are very short, with a lug-to-lug length of 44mm, whilst at the same time, the text on the dial goes all the way out to the very edge. This means that due to its large dial, the watch is perceived to be larger than how it actually wears. All in all, the watch wears almost like a 40mm.Seiko FlightMaster SNA411 really has a very distinct dial design which you will either love it or hate it. It’s super busy and will turn off lots of people. This Stuhrling features a primarily polished finish, reminiscent of the original Navitimer, along with a near-identical set of sub-dials and indices. You also get a grippy crown and arrangement that appear to be screw-down; though the limited 5ATM of water resistance suggests otherwise. We all know and adore the Omega Speedmaster — the first watch on the Moon, official watch for NASA astronauts. The Breitling Navitimer has its own prestigious history and diehard fans as well. It is the embodiment of the quirky yet beloved slide rule bezel. These two watches are pinnacles of aviation horology. However, they aren’t the best. Oh no, if anything, they are only thematic stepping stones to the true king of flight watches: the Seiko Flightmaster. It is the best of Speedmaster and Navitimer, with a few quirks and special features of its own.

Everything serves a purpose on the watch. The limited space is definitely not wasted on emptiness. Everything has been thought about. It’s definitely not random chaos. When you think about Seiko, The Seiko Flightmaster SNA411P1 is perhaps not the traditional Seiko watch that first comes to mind. This watch is big, bold, sporty, and rather unique. It’s actually much better to suit a busy dial watch like the SNA411 with a simpler strap to dress it down. Straps like Nato strap, rubber strap or leather strap (plain leather, not the alligator printed ones) will work wonderful with the watch. Even though this is a dedicated pilot watch, Seiko has actually implemented 200 meters of water resistance. Another point for durability and functionality. You’d not expect such an implementation, but it’s a welcomed modification. It’s always good to have some sort of water resistance with your watch, just in case you forget to take it off before going for a bath or a dive. It is also water resistant and it can outstand around 200M of water, this wristwatch can even be useful during scuba diving and it looks amazing on any style. It can be used for casual events or business meetings.

The Seiko Flightmaster is equipped with a stainless steel bracelet that combines both brushed and polished elements. The watch was designed and developed primarily for pilots and engineers, and with the built-in chronograph, analog alarm, and a rotary slide rule, you can accomplish a great number of tasks with the watch itself. What is especially interesting about this watch is that it is, at its core, a professional pilot’s watch, but it still offers a water resistance of 200m, which is standard for many dive watches. Would that mean Seiko has successfully combined the best of both worlds? Perhaps, but either way, this combination is a welcomed one. A bit of water resistance to keep your watch safe at all times is always a good idea. And in theory, a pilot’s watch should be water-resistant in case a pilot has to eject and land in the water. But of course, the likelihood that this would happen is probably close to zero. And we say this because we are living in a time where the closest most dive watches come to water is when the owner wash their hands. The Seiko SNA411 is a quartz watch, which means that it’s powered by a battery. The seconds-hand moves in a sweeping motion (continually moving, instead of the “tik-tok” approach). A quartz solution was needed, as these watches are more precise than automatic watches – and precision is incredibly important for pilots. The Chronograph It has a chronograph that is a functional tool and is useful for engineers and pilots. To use the feature, you need to operate the two pushers found on the right side of the watch. The one at the top right is used to start and to pause the chronograph while the one at the bottom right is used to reset the chronograph. It also has a split time function, which is useful for sporting events. You can record time of events. Rotary slide rule
