Tuonela Magazine described the album as a "mash-up between Eurodance-inspired tunes and brutal djent-sprinkled riffs. A new name, a renewed sense of style, and clearly they were having as much fun as possible when making this. What was once a band buttressed solely by the dim star of 2010s electro-metalcore is now a significant force, and as is probably expected, the timeline of how we got to this point isn’t the clearest. Instead, it’ll open up a new world of possibilities within this EDM meets Metal phase we are currently seeing a rise of throughout the scene, and I wouldn’t be half surprised if more bands/producers head down this path with future releases, especially if they want to try and bring across fans from both respected genre-fields. At the end of the day, they’re most defined as a loud, bawdy, horny crew, and lean into all of that accordingly.

We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Some music acts which have a comedy element focus too much on comedy and not enough about the music. The juxtaposition of the two core genres in this song set up the expectations for the rest of the album – and as the band have stated in the past, they’re working with genres they love – with the end result proving heavy metal and techno go hand in hand in a weird and wacky way.

On 6 December 2021, the band submitted "Pump It" into the German national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, [4] but ultimately were not included in the final list of participants. The screams are full, the overall tone is heavy with underlying EDM/synth elements throwing back to the early sounds of acts such as Enter Shikari and Skip The Foreplay – but perfected for an audience in 2022. As good as the vocals are on this track, there would be a danger if they went down this route in future, they would become a Linkin Park tribute act. huge breakdowns, brilliant pop choruses, modern and old-school electro, metalcore riffs, and a large dose of escapist fun.

Bravery’ might be too strong a word, but no one else is throwing in entire verses from German rapper FiNCH like on Spaceman, or building off a completely undiluted Europop song that could’ve been cut by O-Zone with Hurrikan. Yes, the critic hat unfortunately does have to come back on and the party has to stall, because for as entertaining as Tekkno is, that’s not enough to fully slide it outside the realm of issues that hold it back from much more. Right from the get-go on the album opener ‘Pump It’, we’re thrown into a track that is reminiscent of groups like Attack Attack! The vibrant, almost sappy melody takes a dangerous, sharp turn at the 1-minute mark into something that seems to come from the depths of hell itself. First the good: We Got The Moves has an agreeable enough, Rammstein-ish stomp, the chugging bits of opener Pump It are satisfyingly heavy, the keyboardy metal of Mindreader is genuinely good and the best thing here, and closing track Neon is well-versed in the art of the big Euro-metal chorus as perfected by In Flames in about 2004.It’s a happy, psychedelic ride that occasionally turns into a nightmare, like the beautiful chaos that is “Mindreader,” arguably the heaviest track on the album. Eclectic production beats bounce off David-Karl Friedrich’s own heavy drum rhythms at driving force in the same way Sallach’s powerful clean vocals and Kevin Ratajczak’s rough growls do.

In April 2013 the band toured the United States for the first time alongside Kottonmouth Kings and Deuce.Though this isn’t an easy listen, Body Void’s newest journey into the abyss yields a shrieking, industrial mutation of doom-metal that couldn’t fit into the blackness around them more perfectly. I attended their live concert at this year’s Alcatraz Festival in Belgium, and let me just say… the crowd went berserk. None of these elements are easy to conduct well and the standard is certainly much higher when new listeners only know you for screaming over what could be a Scooter track. and Enter Shikari, as both vocalists Kevin Ratajczak and Nico Sallach take turns to get you all hyped up for the next half hour and ensure that you’re definitely in the party mood.

Neon”, like “Arrow Of Love”, surrenders to a nineties disco vibe that turns the track into a synth ballad and reveals a peaceful momentum of the album. This pop punk -inspired track turned out slightly cringey, but remains an entertaining summer tune nonetheless. According to Hysteria Mag, "Fckboi" leans into a pop punk sound, while utilizing alternative rock and trap elements. For frivolous lyrics like, “We are young, we are free / sippin’ on booze on a sunny beach,” I’ll gladly bring out my glowsticks. Metal is prevalent, featuring three breakdowns, one of which being in the first minute, while the fast choruses make it the ultimate EDM workout anthem.Their sixth effort, “Tekkno” – available September 16th, 2022, through Century Media Records – is no different. Seriously, it’s 5 months old and I’m still finding myself singing the chorus when it rolls through on my playlists. Less than two minutes long, the first minute is very 00s Europop with a twinkling piano intro, but suddenly bursts into the most unpredictably filthy death metal. Hardstyle beats (“Parasite”) also join the heavy and driving metal sound on “Tekkno,” adding a rhythmic component to the guitar riffs with electronic inserts that further polish their sound. Fuckboi,” featuring all-female Michigan-based CONQUER DIVIDE, is one of the less memorable tracks on the album.
