Twisty strongly believed that kids did indeed still like him, and was oblivious to the fact that he actually terrified them with his ghoulish appearance. Twisty also had a hatred of carnival freaks, after the ones at the circus he once worked for ruined his career, and believed the freaks of the Cabinet of Curiosities were "stealing" the children, just like the others. As a result, he sought to "save" the kids from them, as well. Upon his return to Jupiter, he found that his alcoholic mother had died. Efforts to sell his " whirligigs" to the local toy store were met first with disinterest and then fear at his crazed desperation and rage against the rumors of his past. Despondent, he blew off his lower jaw with a shotgun in an attempted suicide. To cover up his horrible facial disfigurement, he began wearing a wide-grinned prosthetic mask. He then decided, in his own " special" way, to make the children love him again by keeping them "safe" from their parents. [2] Personality and Appearance [ ] Water Color Paint - This is good for washes or add a slight amount of color. I used this on the mouth for shadows

He was so scary that actors had to leave the set after takes and regularly complained of nightmares.Rubber Man is pretty iconic to this season, but our favorite is sexy Moira. (The young version! And before she had her eyeball shot out.) The makeup-intensive look for this group was inspired by Tate’s fantasies of his less-than-savory past. Here is a pretty cool YouTube tutorial we found of someone doing this makeup as well. The creepy smile is a crucial part of the costume. The mouth runs ear to ear and from just below the cheekbone and nose down past the chin. There are ten teeth on the top and bottom row. I vacuum former this part of the mouth. In 2017, Twisty's murders became so famous that he spawned his own comic book franchise, Twisty: the Clown Chronicles. It is shown that young Oz Mayfair-Richards is a big fan of the series, despite his mother being a coulrophobic. Oz also has an action figure of Twisty. To make the collar, I cut off the skirting into two even strips, laid them out on top of each other, pinned, trimmed excess and then did a gathering stitch finishing with a small hook and eye closure.

Even after being falsely accused of being a pedophile, which cost him his job, Twisty's love of children inspired him to make toys for a local toy shop to sell. Unfortunately, his tainted reputation spread to the toy shop, and he was ostracized by the entire community. Due to the dwarfs at the freak show spreading the accusation, Twisty hates freaks. He also hates smoking, as it makes his throat burn. After his attempted suicide, Twisty's simple and child-like mind degraded into a delusional maniac, with a very lose grasp on reality. It may be due to brain damage from loss of blood and even lead poisoning from the bullets. Either way, twisty was willing to murder, kidnap, and try to brainwash children into loving him again. He was still simple, but retained an animalistic cunning, and was very good at evading the authorities and abducting people, all the while remaining undetected. He also held onto the opinion he was merely a good clown, and totally oblivious to the atrocities he caused, suggesting that he is completely insane. Twisty also was a good craftsman, making cages, and whirligigs. To make the hair, I cut three rectangle pieces of fur and dipped each one in watered down acrylic paint matching the colors of the original. Vacuuming forming clay provides one shot to get it right. You can't save the clay mold. I have a mini vacuum former I built. I accentuated the details as vacuum forming loses a lot of detail. This pull turned out well, though I did lose some detail as I heated and curved it to my face. Later, he replaced his Pierrot clown hat with what appears to be the severed scalp of another, unknown clown. The predominantly bald scalp had a yellow tuft of hair on the left, a large dark green tuft on the middle, and a red tuft on the right. The middle red pom pom was replaced with a yellow one, and Twisty ditched his big red clown nose. As time progressed, his costume became grey and degraded, and his paint appears to have been left on for months. At this point, the initially bright and cheerful clown's appearance had become so warped, it could instill suspicion in adults, and uncontrollable fear in children. He may be based upon real life serial killer John Wayne Gacy, who regularly dressed as a clown named Pogo for children's birthday parties. Twisty was literally dropped on his head as a baby, resulting in minor mental disability. He left Jupiter in 1943 to work as a clown with Rusty Westchester's Traveling Carnival. Jealous of his popularity, the carnival freaks (led by two cruel dwarfs) spread a lie that he was molesting children. He was no longer able to find work as a clown (though this didn't stop him from wearing the costume and makeup) and he returned to Jupiter to build novelties from garbage scrap.

UPDATE: American Horror Story has certainly made a name for itself with American Horror Story: Coven and Freak Show. The Freak Show premiere had an estimated viewership of over 6 million! We’ve now got some solid additions to our American Horror Story collection that sure to scare you up a great time. Large roll of 36" wide paper - This is for sewing templates and as a table cloth to protect working surfaces.

I started with a craft foam base, but cardboard or paper would have worked just as well. I sculpted the mouth out of clay. I sculpted it flat and heat formed the final plastic part. Curving it did lose some detail, so accentuate the details between the teeth. Twisty's appearance undergoes a very drastic change during the course of the series. Initially, he was a classic Pierrot clown, with a full whiteface, with a big red nose, a white, baggy costume with red bits and 3 red pom-poms on the front, red lines running across his eyes, and a big red clown smile painted on his face. He was a bright and colorful clown who looked very sweet, huggable, and approachable. After his attempted suicide, he lost most of his lower jaw, and wore a marginally less terrifying prosthetic grinning mask across the damaged area of his face. On Halloween of 1960, Elsa Mars, performing on live TV, summons Edward Mordrake, who arrives accompanied by Twisty. Elsa asks for them to take her. As Edward is about to stab Elsa, Twisty, with his mouth now restored to normal, tells her that it will only hurt for a moment. White thread - For stitching the shirt, pants, and collar. I think I used 5 or 6 spools, but I lost count.
