You see some movies don't need to be reviewed, you just need to watch them first, and then judge your feelings. Perhaps I was reading too much into it, but I spotted some uncommon themes, and, perhaps, hidden messages in this movie. Unfortunately, Liz catches him in the act and Howard is left alone while his family goes to the Christmas parade with Ted and Johnny. Trevor Johnston suggested that the film "seems to mark a point of decline in the Schwarzenegger career arc" and the anti-consumerism message largely failed, with "Jim Belushi's corrupt mall Santa with his stolen-goods warehouse . But before he can recognize his father, Jamie is chased around the parade by Myron who is dressed as Turbo-Man's arch enemy Dementor having caught and tied up the real actor (Richard Moll) while Howard does his best to keep up, though with little skill in controlling the Turbo-Man equipment.

He became available in February 1996 after Fox's remake of Planet of the Apes was held up again; [3] Columbus also exited that project to work on Jingle All the Way. Columbus said Levant "underst[ood] the humor in the material" and "was very animated and excited, and he had a vision of what he wanted to do".The site's critical consensus reads, "Arnold Schwarzenegger tries his best, but Jingle All the Way suffers from an uneven tone, shifting wildly from a would-be satire on materialism to an antic, slapstick yuk-fest.

However, when Liz asks him what he got for her, he shockingly realizes that he forgot to get her a gift. But this movie is a family favourite now, and like several other Christmas movies, it gets viewed every year. Whatever humor you prefer, this film has it, and more often than not, it blends them together quite well. When Howard misses his son Jamie's karate practice, he makes peace by promising him a Turbo Man action figure for Christmas. The fact that I got to design a toy line and do the commercials and make pajamas and comic books was fun for me as a filmmaker.James Belushi (Schwarzenegger's co-star from "Red Heat") appears in a amusing supporting role as a con man, dressed an Santa Claus. There are a lot of misadventures(you wont remember every after ending i promise),but they actually work out pretty entertaining, sometimes even laughably funny (Santa's gang scene). After five weeks filming, production moved to California where scenes such as the end parade were shot. The scenes with Arnie at the warehouse filled with Santas and elves was funny, and it had a good ending with the father becoming the hero after all. Emanuel Levy felt the film "highly formulaic" and criticized Levant's direction as little more advanced than a television sitcom.
