Mixed entirely during lockdown in Kevin’s new Brussels home, the sense of claustro-fear, escapism and tension is palpable.

There is a great sense of maturity and reflection to this album, which is perhaps why it is only relatable to those of that mindset.

Phantasmagoria in Blue is Mick Harvey’s new album of duets in collaboration with Mexican artist Amanda Acevedo. This is a very human record and I think that any human being who has lived and experienced a lot in life will find something on this album with which they can relate to.I can only say to the person who gave this CD a one star rating that it's either time you renewed your CD equipment or had an ear test as it sounds just fine to both my husband and I and we are very picky. Joni Mitchell would go on from this 1971 recording to make more popular, more ambitious and more challenging albums, but she's never made a better one. It has 70% UV Protection against fading and an anti-reflective coating that helps colours stay bright and vivid. As usual, the band didn’t approach the album with any pre-conceptions, and instead created an organic journey that represents everything great about Morcheeba.

Songs such as "All I Want", "Carey", "California" and "A Case of You" work equally well as poetry and pop music. Harvey and Acevedo met several years ago in Mexico City, but it was during 2020/21 that the project burst into life, as ideas were exchanged across the oceans and through the ether. One always allows for personal tastes, but I genuinely feel sorry for those few reviewers who can't appreciate what they're listening to. Lessons of Love are interwoven in the words and music about the peaks and troughs a real good roller coaster of a ride.

Now fans will get a chance to rediscover many of their past favourites and unearth some forgotten gems along the way too …all re-mastered and sounding better than ever. The layers of daily sounds in every song, the free-form of raw emotion and pure vulnerability “Antidawn” and “New Love” give creates such nostalgic feelings which somehow give life to active memories.
