Living Sea Therapy have honed the cultivation of salt on the Lizard Peninsula with sister company Cornish Sea Salt to utilise the healing benefits of the crystals in their bath and body range. The coastal waters of Cornwall provide some of the purest and most unique sea salt in the world, rich in minerals due to the local geology - where the earths mantle is exposed under the Atlantic Ocean which has resulted in an equally unique crystal formation. Similar to the healing qualities of the Dead Sea, whose products boast 21 minerals, while Living Sea Therapy have over 60 in their formulas.

For years, Akthar tried a range of different therapies but didn't find any that helped him. Then, in June this year, his doctor referred him to the Blue Prescribing scheme run by the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT) , a charity. Blue spaces provide us with distractions that take our mind away from the day-to-day hassles of life," says Kate Campbell, a health psychology researcher at Te Herenga Waka-Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. "The sound of the crashing waves, the smell of salty air, the crunching of sand beneath our toes…The sensations relax our bodies and tell our minds to switch off." The rush of river currents and the sound of waves washing ashore fall into the category of “pink noise". Like white noise, pink noise is made up of all the sound frequencies audible to the human ear – but with less volume at the higher frequencies. It has been found to aid sleep and improve memory. More recently, experts from Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) have found that spending time in blue spaces lowers the risk of stress, anxiety, obesity, cardiovascular disease and premature death. Larger spaces are also being designed to maximise the benefits of blue health for city-dwellers. On the outskirts of Bristol, south-west England’s most populous city, a 75-acre (30-hectare) "wave garden" known as The Wave gives people a rare inland surfing experience.I first discovered Pure Nuff Stuff when I was looking for a natural deodorant. I had tried several natural deodorants before, but none of them seemed to work. Pure Nuff Stuff’s deodorant was a game-changer for me. It’s gentle on the skin, effective at controlling odour, and it smells great too! Cornish Chai Co. James Grellier, an epidemiologist at the University of Exeter and researcher at Blue Health, believes these results send a "key message" to policymakers. But the benefits of blue spaces, he says, largely depend on their quality.

When I had a bad day, it would take three to four days for me to come out of it," he says. "I slept and ignored everyone including my family – and I love my family. I wouldn't eat. You'd rarely see me." Wildcrafted Cornish Seaweed and Cornish Sea Salt minerals are at the heart of this natural marine skincare range from Cornwall. In 2016, a European research initiative, Blue Health, was founded to collect evidence on the health benefits of blue infrastructure in urban spaces. Inhalation: Thalassotherapy spas may encourage residents to inhale steam from seawater or to take in the sea air around them.Atlantic scuba– a group dedicated to keeping fit with an interest in the sea. They are not qualified swimming instructors, only snorkelling and diving, however their in depth knowledge of the Cornish coast and the currents around Cornwall means they can do it safely. The group normally meet on Tuesday evenings at Gyllyngvase Beach at 7pm for 30-45 minutes. It’s usually an easy swim at an easy pace with flat water. They also meet at weekends, these swims can be anything from a swim around an island to lengths in a quarry. To find out more information, the Facebook group you can speak to them on is Cornwall Sea Swimmers. Pure Nuff Stuff is a natural skincare brand based in Helston. They use only the finest natural ingredients in their products, which are handmade in small batches to ensure quality and freshness.
