Description

When the hedgerows and trees grow heavy with our six ripe fruits, the croft air is full of rich, sweet, floral aromas, all detectable in the glass. Using a total of 16 botanicals and distilled using the traditional single copper pot still method, we have created a gin that has a refreshing lemon base, pronounced further by a diverse array of leaves and flowers – including lemon balm – hand foraged on the island and selected to deliver a gentle floral, citrus fresh character. Even without considering it’s not their normal forte it’s a fantastic effort, a mellow and refreshing dry gin with aromatic notes of lemon and peppermint. Nine classic gin aromatics are also used to give the gin a highly distinctive, complex, floral and an outstanding finish.

Long sandy beaches with seal covered reefs offshore, soaring sea cliffs, abundant birdlife and a population of about 130 people. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Made from our own recipe, combining a specially selected range of botanicals and the best pure grain spirit, this super-premium gin is produced in small batches using only the finest ingredients. Please always read the labels, warnings, and directions provided with the product before using or consuming a product. Born in a traditional copper still infused with six native hand foraged botanicals growing wild on our island and a further ten as our base. The key botanicals in the gin come directly from the Gardens, including Douglas Fir which has a wonderful piney flavour. Wild Island Botanic Gin is a celebration of the beauty and unique character of our island home, the Isle of Colonsay.
