Her work also found commercial success: in 1992 the BBC adapted her novel Archer’s Goon into a six-part miniseries, and her best-selling Howl’s Moving Castle was made into an animated film by Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki in 2004. But she does a wonderful job keeping the mystery intriguing right up through the end of the book, as Howard and his sister Awful try desperately to figure out what's going on before the seven siblings drive them all to distraction or worse. Take Over the World: Most of the siblings have this as their goal as soon as they can leave the city. It's funny, has a fascinating goon and a clever boy that is determined to save his family from the goon.The remaining siblings have no plans to rule the world – but Howard, now Venturus, still worries about what Erskine and Awful may get up to in the future. The Goon himself, which is the key character the story revolves around (besides Howard) is very lovable and entertaining. Venturus had twice, to get himself out of design problems with his spaceship, sent the whole town back thirteen years through time, accidentally transforming himself into a small child in the process. The story flies off on unexpected lines, and the people in the book do things that you don't think they are going to do.
