About this deal

I appreciate that DC haven't decided to drag this out past its sell-by date, especially given how successful it's been for them, and let Taylor finish his story his way. Its an amazing comic and I highly implore you to read it and just have one heck of an adventure in this part of the DC multiverse. For this to be a true ending our heroes needed to go to the source of the DC Universe problems, which was the embodiment of the Anti-Life Equation in Erebos. Damian inquired as to why he would be willing to part with it, which he replied that the knowledge in the universe would die with the universe. Superman, Batman, The Flash and more are quickly either killed or turned, and several DC heroes have to take up new mantles.

Jon then tells Damian he was a great Batman as the Life Equation and Anti-Life Equation collide to create a new Big Bang. When the series starts, the survivors have had 5 years of hiding and fighting in their wake, and then this run spends at least its first six issues just making things worse. The penultimate issue of DCeased: War Of The Undead Gods did a lot to show our heroes finally get the big victory over Darkseid and the Anti-Living army. Because Damian tried to reassure him he couldn’t have known in the moment but it still hurts Alfred. And after several years and several other mini-series ( Unkillables, Hope At World’s End, Dead Planet), the tale finally came to War Of The Undead Gods, the arc that was set to wrap up the DCeased story. But I really wish that there wasn't yet another big bad multiverse villain introduced as the true source behind the virus. The plan also gave the chance for Darkseid and others to get payoffs to their own arcs as they joined our heroes in the fight against Erebos. I did like The Seven Secrets (essentially creator owned) I think a few more issues would have helped with developing the story.

Soranik recovered, but Supergirl was attacking Sinestro long enough for Darkseid to grab him and easily kill him. He came to tell them that he was going to meet with the Guardians of Oa, leading Alfred to ask him to stay, due to him having lost his adopted children following having to kill them. I admit I feel a bit cheated by not seeing how the heroes saved these characters, but it is great to know they’ll have a happier ending in this Elseworld. Along the way, we get to see some wild sights, awesome character combinations, and characters shifting sides that will keep the conclusion up in the air for which side will win.We now see several characters, like Mister Miracle and Supergirl, healed and reunited with their families. Throughout the majority of the DCeased trilogy and spinoff titles we’ve seen Damian’s growth be a sub-plot in this franchise.

Once both were out of the sun, Dinah Lance had used her ring to create a bubble around Superman to entrap him, only for him to shatter the construct like glass. In the process they discover that the virus isn't just sentient, it is actually a being of immense power. Kind of off-topic here, but can we take a moment to appreciate seeing freakin' Batman smiling, full of genuine hope and optimism? While Kal-El is the Man of Steel, Taylor takes that further with a reincarnated Clark with a proper steel arm.Probably none more unexpected of intriguing than when Alfred Pennyworth–of all characters across the DC universe, ALFRED PENNYWORTH–bonds with The Spectre!
