Biography: Mary Killen is a busy journalist, with a weekly column in The Spectator, and regular contributions in many other national publications. They spoke to us about how they ended up on Gogglebox, what the most annoying things about each other are and the unusual term of endearment they use for each other. Sorry not had chance to read it yet but thumbed through and looking forward to sitting with a coffee and putting my feet up.

Both having a background in writing and creating they agreed to the diary format of this book as it offered the chance to produce (in Giles’ words “ anecdotal accounts of the various hurdles life and marriage throws up at a couple in a bid to try and see what, in the dread words of the politicians lessons can be learned”. Despite living in the county for 30 years, Ms Killen admitted she had been in “exile” during that time and was ready to head back to the capital. For Mary, someone who admits to recording their disagreements and typing up a transcript, this format would also seem to be ideal. Mary’s a journalist, formerly worked for Tatler and is currently The Spectator’s agony aunt; Giles contributes to The Oldie although he is a serious fine artist who, she says, needs to work more. One example is our local bakery, whose products are much sought after by those in the know, but whose owner is so un-pushy that, unless you live in the village, you would not even know the premises existed behind its steamed-up windows and virtually invisible fascia.

I love Mary and Giles, it's great to listen to them 'waffle', they are both so authentic and endearing. Gogglebox star Pat Webb dies aged 75 following a 'long illness' as show veteran Stephen pays tribute to his.

The book, written in individual chunks by each of them, aims to capture the ins and outs of living in a rural village. They concluded "the jury’s out" on whether they'll actually sell their home, but if they did choose to move, it wouldn't be the first time the Channel 4 stars live in the capital. Beginning his writing career in 2014, Dan's work first graced the pages of cult publications Starburst magazine and Little White Lies before moving onto Total Film, Digital Spy , NME and Yahoo Entertainment.

In the film and TV universe, he kneels at the altar of Jim Carrey, Daniel Plainview, Mike Ehrmantraut and Paulie Walnuts.

Mary agrees that she'd like to relocate, stating: "As a woman who can’t drive, I have been exiled these past three decades to a village without a bus service. We can sense the long-suffering of Mary towards Giles’ ability to wind her up, often with a twinkle in his eye with her keen to put him back on the right track. The ultimate Valentine's Day countdown - here are 10 romantic gestures to help sweep your partner off their feet! They went on to describe parts of the home as "worse than Benefits Street" due to the mould problem. I was hooked on eating Sainsbury's cooking Chorizo at 2am: BRYONY GORDON was addicted to drugs and alcohol.

Much of this is based on the problems of Giles – a procrastinating artist “stranded in the Seventies”, a fledgling eco-warrior and keen gardener who relishes opportunities to be annoying and Mary’s constant busyness, rooting around to locate lost objects and attempting to fit too much into each day whose ideal times of her married life have been when she has had a live-in assistant to act as buffer between her and her husband. For now though, "the jury's out" on whether they'll actually up sticks, so the Gogglebox production team can rest easy. ITV's Love Island All Stars faces backlash from fans over complaints about the format: 'Streaming platforms have me spoiled! There’s a serious side to the whole of this (which becomes clearer in the interview with the authors at the end of the download). Mary Killen is a busy journalist, with a weekly column in The Spectator, and regular contributions in many other national publications. From the organic no-dig veg patch to the Heron Appreciation Society, much-loved Gogglebox regulars Giles and Mary offer a wonderfully idiosyncratic guide to rural life from their ramshackle Wiltshire homestead.
