About this deal

I could read a book just about those three, they are always making me laugh, with their quirks and desire to just be loved for themselves.

People are killed, graves are dug, unlikely alliances and friendships are formed, romance blossoms for some of the characters and while some mysteries are solved, there is much more to the story than what everyone assumes.Polifax came along later, (1966-2000) bringing the international spy angle, only obviously elderly and prone to kindness instead of athleticism.

That’s a high bar to set from the get-go, but Osman has easily achieved it in subsequent books… This book is as delightful as the others. Its predecessors, The Thursday Murder Club and The Man Who Died Twice, sold millions of copies around the world.A journalist, Bethany Waite, was said to have committed suicide by driving her car off a cliff, however her body has never been found. Any publisher would be keen for Osman to press on with the series after such record-breaking success – The Man Who Died Twice sold an astonishing 114,202 hardbacks in the UK in its first three days last year.
