About this deal

The different ways in which these wines are produced give a myriad different flavours ranging from candied citrus fruits and grapes, butterscotch and caramel, through to dried fruits such as dates and figs and nuts. Glasses and other items have no restrictions but please be aware these are packaged very well to avoid breakages, so postage can be high. They tend to combine fresh and fruity flavours with warm spices, chocolate and raisins which complement Christmas Pudding.

Enjoyed at room temperature or gently heated, it is the perfect accompaniment to cold nights and festive gatherings. This recipe will give you a festive tasting desert wine that will go fabulously with your festive cheeseboard or as an alternative to traditional mulled wine, with only 3 ingredients it is suitable for the beginner brewer and will impress your guests! Tawny Port is a lighter style of the famous Portuguese fortified wine, displaying flavours of toffee and caramel, and even its own chocolate notes after a little ageing. Rich, dark muscats are the perfect treat with dried fruit – the flavours in the wine tend to mirror those in the dessert, so give muscat a try on Christmas Day with that all important dinner finale, Christmas pudding. Not strictly speaking a pudding wine (it’s medium dry in style) but delicious with puddings nonetheless! In this blog post I give some suggestions for wines to drink with Christmas Pudding, other Christmas desserts and cheese. When it comes to bringing it all together and enjoying a glass of dessert wine with your favourite festive puddings, there are a few handy tips for how to nail these sweet pairings. Crisp, fragrant and full of fruity flavours, Sparkling Moscato (the Italian name for Muscat Blanc) is a great texture contrast with rich Christmas Pudding. These wines tend to work really well with fruit-based desserts (lemon tart is a wonderful combo) or comforting 'nursery' puddings such as bread and butter pudding or fruit crumble. Or if you’ve used strawberries, opt for a sweeter-style rosé like a refreshing Californian White Zinfandel.

Lyme Bay Christmas Pudding Wine has a delicious warming taste that embodies the character of a classic Christmas Pudding. It is tasting much oranger than expected (I did add some of the orange zest) but not very christmasy as I expected. Ice wine should also have good acidity to prevent them being too sweet and to help them pair well with most puddings.

Please check the tracking first, as they may provide an explanation but we welcome the opportunity to nip issues in the bud. A full box also helps to reduce the small chance of damage, as empty compartments collapsing can be a cause of this. You can help us reduce waste by notifying us as soon as possible, but no later than 7 days after the receipt of the goods provided that the goods are in original condition they were sent; unopened and sealed, as required by the Consumer Protection for Distance Selling Regulations 2000 (as amended). The key is to think about how sweet your dessert is and make sure that you go for a wine which is slightly sweeter, to keep those flavours in balance.
