Description
brothers best friendš this book was better than the other but also kinda cringey :/ like please do not ask me out in some huge public display because i will give you a side eye and run the opposite direction.
I swear there aint nothing better than male desperation and the way it was described in Don't Let Me Go was amazing. Theo and Blakely have a history, a past that keeps on pulling them apart, until its miscommunication and some pretty dumb moves. Theo has had feelings for Blake for as long as he can remember but he can't cross that line even though it is getting harder to keep his distance and also doesn't do relationships or commitments. Which would be a heck of a lot easier if Theo hadn't made it his mission to be my own personal chastity belt for the foreseeable future. This was a nice addition to the series and I canāt wait to find out what happens for the next couple. He was remorseful for his behavior, He learned from his mistakes and tried making up things with Blake. What happens when you look back at your life and realize you had to give up something you love to be with the person you care about? When it comes to Blake with other guys, Theo does not tolerate it and always sees red in front of him. At first i kind of thought Theo was being annoying and he was being too much of an over protective big brother to Blake than her actual brother, but I quickly started to love his and Blakeās tit for tat relationship. MC is annoying not a badass, literally canāt count on one hand how many times she was referenced or referenced herself as being ādifferent from all the other girlsā.
Now that she's actively pursuing her writing dreams, she's set her sights on someday finding the self-discipline to not binge-watch an entire series on Netflix in one sitting. You'll feel their vulnerability, and insecurity, they are double-guessing each other, and both live in a tumultuous state since Blake is his best friend's little sister and he grew up with her.
But they were always secretly attracted to each other, or perhaps not so secretly in everyone else's eyes. So we all know the saying 'Don't Judge a Book by It's Cover' but let's be real when we're looking at books the first thing to catch our eye is the cover; whelp the cover I saw didn't provide an idea that is was even a romance, never mind a romance that was going to have me so invested I forgot to eat lunch. This brought kind of a fresh feel to the "im in love with my brother's best friend" Troupe and was dual POV. I love Blakelyās and Theonās story and appreciated the snippets into the other characters continued stories. There was an initial āyou want someone who challengesā you vibe but then he didnātā¦ I finished because I was invested in the ending but it isnāt one Iāll read again.
By completing your purchase, you agree to Audible's Conditions of Use and authorise Audible to charge your designated card or any other card on file. if you enjoy college romances, v-card romances, brotherās best friend, and un-requited childhood crush stories, this is absolutely the book for you!I love the brothers best friend trope, and almost want to rate this higher because it had that trope, but no, you want that trope, thereās so many other books thatās better.
Blake is a child, at times i thought ok, she's maybe on her way to handling stuff like a badass but it just kept coming back to the same conclusion. They make a big deal about it, making the ābest hokey teamā lose a game, just so Colt can say āI know youāve always loved her.I truly couldnāt put this book down and thought every twist and turn kept me HOOKED the entire time. College romances are often full of drama and intense emotion coupled with miscommunication or the total lack of it, misunderstandings, uncertainty and lacking in self-confidence.
