About this deal

David Gordon Green’s alternate timeline of what comes after John Carpenter’s 1977 Halloween found its conclusion this past fall.

Like the image, it’s a good track that does what it’s asked to with the minimum of fuss, but also without the obligatory scenes of continued presence or ear-splitting bombast to lift this to the upper echelons of soundtrack glory. and yet upon release, the howls of derision that greeted the film from the most ardent sections of Halloween fandom (full disclosure: myself included) let Blumhouse (the film’s producers), Green and Curtis know that they had singularly failed to deliver on any of their hype or on their promises. Clumsy and clunky, it’s still not the absolute worst Halloween film, but it’s far from being a masterpiece.David Gordon Green and Danny McBride’s final trip to Haddonfield brilliantly explores the trauma of a town coping with tragedy at the exact wrong time in a trilogy. The discs load to static image main menus with standard navigation options along the bottom and the bonus features menu along the right side of the screen. Halloween Ends is typical of most studio horror films shot in the 21 st century – shot digitally on Arri Alexa cameras, with the anamorphic process used to mimic the original look and feel of the original films, resulting in a 4K digital intermediate.

I thought that Laurie Strode masking her pain by trying to be “tits-out” domestic grandma was a smart avenue for her character as she and Allyson cope with their loss. For a movie meant to wrap up decades of confrontation between these two characters, the focus is placed largely on Allyson and newcomer Corey, creating an odd conclusion. Yet one could argue that the greatest harm that has been done to this latest trilogy in the long-running Halloween franchise has been done by those that have created it. I know it’s been four years in the world of the story, but the complete 180-degree turn by both Laurie and Michael is too strange of a starting point. Throughout, there's enough happening in each scene to keep those surround and height channels active and engaged. The first feature delivered an uneven but undeniably effective set-up for a final battle, but 2021’s “Halloween Kills” (also hit with creative issues) disrupted the mission, with Green trying to inflate a simple idea of ca . A Different Threat – As Haddonfield evolves to a new era, we examine how the evil within has also evolved. Little more than a short scuffle in a suburban kitchen, the ending of Halloween (2018) felt more fitting than the staggeringly limp denouement delivered here.

The film really works the quiet moments allowing big locations like the opening house plenty of atmosphere. Laurie, after allowing the specter of Michael to determine and drive her reality for decades, has decided to liberate herself from fear and rage and embrace life. Certainly not the ending Halloween fans wanted for Michael or Laurie, it appears that the desire to make Halloween more than it was has gotten in the way of it being simply what it should. But the character that gets the most care and attention, Corey, was introduced far too late in this franchise sub-trilogy.
