I do enjoy the aromatic open—I particularly smell the lavender, which is present in the open and the heart imo. Please read the full reviews and consider your own needs and preferences before making a purchasing decision. If only the longevity didn't suck it would be 11/10, but in all seriousness this is a quality masterpeice that has backbone and any women in close proximity will love it. I feel La Nuit de l'Homme is meant to be intimate, the vintage versions are a tad richer and deeper but still an intimate frag. The retail pricing for the 100 mL size isn't horrible, considering the quality of the fragrance and the fact that this isn't intended as a versatile daily driver.

If you think perfume can fix your graphic tee, cargo shorts, sandals, and sexual frustrations then I want you to avoid this powdery slightly spicy gem. The original DNA is quite subtle and the added notes like lavender clary sage vetiver and patchouli give this a familiar but toned down echo of none other than Fahrenhiet le Parfum. Overall it's a really nice scent, first you get something similar to the original EdT but with a little bit of extra sweetness in the background and then it evolves into a smooth, sweet-ish leather. It is Spicy-Aromatic-Woody, emphasis on cardamon, Lay on Lavender with Cedar / Vetiver, maybe a dash of Creamy feel.

Please do not spray 30 spritzes on yourself, the beauty of this is it is like a peekaboo fragrance that teases those around you. Most people will argue that this is a cold evening scent, therefore I fully intend to wear this on the hot summer days just to go against the grain.

The point of this long post is I'm trying to say that the reformulation police are mostly a bunch of morons who have no idea what they are talking about. Unlike the (the current) La Nuit EDT this is 'still' radiating strongly from my hand, the EDT disappears in under 10 mins to become a skin-scent for sniffer dogs alone. One of the first modern style woody aromatic spicy fragrances with a rather unpolished rugged medicinal vibe.You can easily get the LNDL DNA from it, but it definitely goes its own direction from the rest of the line. Yves Saint Laurent has a chance to do something here, if they fail then they should just stop with all of these L'Homme flankers! Some suggest replacing it with Trussardi's Riflesso, but although they share a certain aromatic resemblance, Riflesso is more fruity, another fragrance that seems like a replacement to me could be Le Male Le Parfum, which is also spicy and aromatic and shares notes such as cardamom, lavender and vanilla and tonka bean.
