Armani Code Eau de Parfum, the new Woody Oriental fragrance by Giorgio Armani, captures an intense, yet effortless seduction. The only problem I have is longevity - at most 2 hours of moderate to low sillage, about twice as much on skin. At no point does this smell “natural” - but that’s ok, as aroma chemicals can give just as much in terms of scent and layers. The opening and mid are enjoyable, but the dry down of Anise, Tonka, and Leather did not work well on my skin. i want to compare it to Dior Homme Intense (DHI) because i think there's a little similarities and both of them are iris fragrances, this is more of a fresh greeny herbal iris not like DHI so it will be more versatile i still think you can pull this anywhere everywhere. A pleasant, zesty opening is immediately joined by tonka and leather, leading to some minutes of interesting contrast. I own hundreds of colognes though so if this was truly outdated and replaceable my reaction wouldn't be so responsive in 2021. I bought this for my ex back in the day circa 2007-08 and I still stand by it as one of the sexiest scents to smell on a guy.I can’t speak for everyone else of course, but for the specific one I bought it’s not a bad performer for an EDT on my clothes I easily get 6 tom7 hours. It's sweet but also dark BUT ALSO FRESH (and i LOVEEEEE fresh fragrances and when dark fragrances can also be fresh it's a win).

But, based on reviews by people who commented on both older and newer formulations, I'm probably better off putting my nose elsewhere. This Parfum version though is in my top 5 scents right now, a solid 9/10 for me, highly recommended. After that the star anise and leather make its appearance and give it a slightly sour, powdery leather smell which can smell slightly odd at times. I definitely get the bergamot at the top which is a little sharp but the rest of the stuff underneath balances it out really nicely. The olive blossom note results in creamy, almost buttery nuances, while the guaiac wood has an incense-sandalwood aspect. This newly conceived bottle is refillable, demonstrating Giorgio Armani’s mindfulness of the planet.
