Featuring strong mid-range definition, these versatile monitoring headphones are ideal in a variety of situations. Back then our aim was straightforward - provide technology products and services to the education, music, television and film markets. Much like how a caricature will take somebody with a prominent nose and make it huge, the ATH-M30x has some quirky exaggerations when it comes to how it treats note emphasis. However, they aren't stable enough for gym use and won't fare as well in loud environments because they don't block much noise. It sounds less boxy than the ATH-M20X headphones, but it feels like it’s lacking a little bit in clarity.

The closed back design helps to keep room noise and other environmental sounds to a minimum, and it works well when playing electronic drums. However, they're not made for sports and don't exert much pressure on your head which makes them slip off your ears if used at the gym. The ATH-M40x is generally a better pair of headphones, but if you need to work within a budget: the ATH-M30x is no slouch and can go toe to toe with big brother. Audio-Technica's ATH-M series is a line of closed-back, studio-quality monitoring headphones and includes models to suit any budget. For over 50 years Audio-Technica has worked alongside leading figures in sports and music broadcast to develop and hone a range of products that deliver on the highest level.

If you like to listen back to your recordings, or others on the go, the T2 is small and wired with a nice neutral frequency response. They are a little more lightweight and feel like they are lacking the build quality of more expensive Audio-Technica headphones. Same with the hinges on the folding ear cups, which can break over time if you fold them up and transport them a lot. Discover the performance difference of the M-Series professional headphones line with the ATH-M30x studio monitor headphones. I have tried the ATH-M20x, the ATH-M25 (an old discontinued model), the ATH-M30x, the ATH-M40x, and the ATH-M50 (the older version without the letter “x”), and I liked the ATH-M30x the most.Sennheiser HD200 PRO Studio Headphones The HD 200 PRO offers powerful and detailed sound for every monitoring task and for every budget. The only criticism I have in terms of handling is that the size adjustment mechanism does not have any distinct size positions, nor even position markers, so you have to adjust it approximately, put the headphones on and correct the adjustment if needed, which can become especially annoying if the headphones are shared by two people with differently sized heads. For casual listening – these are pretty nice casual listening headphones and they can work well if you prefer more of a neutral sound with some emphasis in the lower high end.

The company later gained huge popularity among musicians with the release of the AT4060 tube microphone. I personally haven’t run into any of these issues yet, but based on my experience with other headphones I’d expect that to eventually happen to these with a lot of use. You may ask if it’s worth the extra money for the Audio-Technica ATH-M40x, given that the two headphones share many similarities. The black ATH-M30x Monitor Headphones from Audio Technica are designed for use in studio tracking, mixing, or field recording applications and feature 40mm Neodymium drivers with copper-clad aluminum voice coils tuned for detailed mid-range definition. Like all Audio-Technica products these are very good value for money and are often used with IEM receivers for production monitoring on feature, commercial and music shoots. With each one consisting of rare earth magnets and copper-clad aluminium voice coils, the ATH-M30x ensures a sonic precision unlike any other. Also, unlike the ATH-M30x, it ships with three different removable cables, prolonging the life of the headset. While neither of the M-series headphones are perfectly “flat”, to my ears, the M30x sound the most balanced.

The Audio Technica ATH-M30x headphones combine modern engineering and exceptional audio clarity with a comfortable listening experience. They also do not have a detachable cable like the Audio-Technica ATH-M40x and Audio-Technica ATH-M50x and could get yanked off your head if something hooks the cable. Lower bass notes have more thump, likely because those land in the parts of the frequency spectrum output with a subtle bump in decibels. Boasting a closed-back circumaural design that fits comfortably around the ears, users can be confident that they can listen to mixes and recordings over long periods without discomfort. The ATH-M30x offer added features for increased portability, making them a great choice for field recording.I'm aware that many may scoff at the fact I picked up the M30X, but it was a distinct enough upgrade for the premium I was paying over M20X, and the M40X was just too far out of reach. The modern headphone’s design features a convenient single-side cable exit for hassle-free listening. offering 'exceptional clarity throughout an extended frequency range, with deep, accurate bass response'.
