Austriancharts.at – Metallica – Master of Puppets" (in German). Hung Medien. Retrieved July 3, 2021. First of all the music is very quiet mastered and barely come out from your speakers. You need a giant amplifier and big speakers to heard good the music. Also the music it seems slightly muddy and have not the explosion or any bright thing. Perhaps the original CD can sound with more power and explosion. But the sound here is more warmer and that save little the whole thing but still i don't enjoy the album from this pressing specially when i had the "Allied US Pressing" in my collection that has "DM Mastering". From there the album it sound completely different and amazing. Elektra Allied Press (this one). The 2nd best version of the album. Insane brightness, explosion and very sharp sound. Closing, it has the most noticiable bass and the most natural drums you can find. And it's the most brighter version too. The "Allied and Specialty" pressings have more punchy sound but also and more noisy and this one has more natural sound with amazing atmosphere and depth. Also the aggression is unbelivable. Do not miss this pressing. The extra bass of the version buried the instruments and especially the guitars and the "Cliff's" bass. Is like you listen some bigger atmosphere behind but it is not that. Is the extra bass that mess little the clarity of the album. The original album has much more separate instruments and more noticiable bass and guitars but also more thin sound. a b c d e f g Pillsbury, Glenn T. (2006). Anyway when i get this version of the album i really impressed about the sound quality in the beginning. Was a better upgrade against my CDs. But over time i getting and other pressings and right now i'm not so impressed about this pressing. In the beginning i did't like that much this "Rhino" version but after a few more listenings i changed my mind a little bit. Don't get me wrong. I still believe this is not the best version of the album but i must to admit that is a High Quality release and it deserves your attention. Retrieved July 31, 2013.First of all this is a high quality material. Mastered at haft speed in 2x12'. It sounds very louder (the most louder vinyl version of the album out there) and also the most heavier. You can hear amazing mass and explosion too but all these things have and the downsides. This version comparing with the "Allied pressing" it sound almost the same. Few difference you can find between of them. The songs they sound the same powerful with the "DM Mastering". The difference is on the vinyl. The "Allied" version it sound sligtly more clean and dead quiet against this one. Also i got some sound distortions on the last song of both sides. But nothing serious. Lastly i have both versions in an excellent condition and for that i can mention these details. Master of Puppets release date". Metallica.com. All in all, is one great pressing compare it with the 80% pressings of the album out there but it can't touch the truly best pressings of the album and that's is the problem. Still it's a amazing and very rare/expensive material to have in your collection.

I have both the Columbia House and the Specialty Pressing (Thanks to Lanakias1) and I can easily say the Columbia House literally the greatest MOP pressing of all time. You NEVER heard of Master Of Puppets until you hear the Columbia House pressing.

It’s a wonderful insight into the machinations of one of the biggest bands in the world, as well as the fallibility that can only be overcome by hard graft and equal amounts of inspiration. The subsequent live discs realise the thrilling outcome of all that hard work.Bassist Robert Trujillo cited Master of Puppets as his favorite album, "I feel Master of Puppets has a lot of everything. It's got instrumentals, it's got great segues, great riffs. It's got one of my favorite songs ever by Metallica, and that song is "Disposable Heroes". So any time I can hear that particular song, count me in. "Battery" is an amazing song. So it's just got everything that I love about Metallica." [52] Accolades and legacy [ edit ] Master of Puppets became thrash metal's first platinum album and by the early 1990s thrash metal successfully challenged and redefined the mainstream of heavy metal. Metallica and a few other bands headlined arena concerts and appeared regularly on MTV, although radio play remained incommensurate with their popularity. [66] Master of Puppets is widely accepted as the genre's most accomplished album, and paved the way for subsequent development. [67] The album, in the words of writer Christopher Knowles, "ripped Metallica away from the underground and put them atop the metal mountain". [68] David Hayter from Guitar Planet recognized the album as one of the most influential records ever made and a benchmark by which other metal albums should be judged. [22] MTV's Kyle Anderson had similar thoughts, saying that 25 years after its release the album remained a "stone cold classic". [69] Carlos Ramirez from Noisecreep believes that Master of Puppets stands as one of the most representative albums of its genre. [70] a b Young, Simon (March 9, 2023).
