The stretchable heat resistant EPDM material allows for a swift installation and an easily achieved airtight seal. The robustness of the EPDM rubber plus the watertight adhesive of the Tescon Vanatape used for sealing means the grommets can also be exposed to external UV and weathering for up to 6 months. Round/Oval Grommets fit inside of holes that are cut into panels. They are often used to protect cables from sharp cut edges or to provide strain relief for the cable. When a hole is cut into a panel, it can often leave a sharp edge. The grommet not only makes it look better but also acts as a bumper for cables and wire that pass through. Most round/oval grommets fit by pushing or snapping into place.

The Roflex EPDM grommet has a heat resistance of up to 150°C and are suitable for most pipe and duct work sealing requirements. If additional heat requirements are necessary, such as for sealing around stove flue pipes, the Eisedicht Hotschott grommets with a heat resistance up to 250°C should be used. Blind/Blanking grommets are the same as round grommets however they do not have a hole in the middle. They are often used to fill holes that are not currently in use to prevent dust from getting in. Some blanking grommets have a small holes in them. These are referred to as diaphragm grommets. The hole sits snug around the wire to protect it from the surrounding area and to prevent dust from passing through to the electrics behind it. Roflex provides an airtight seal around pipes and ducting. It grips the pipe or duct tightly to provide a perfect airtight seal but also allows the pipe to be repositioned or pulled through the grommet when needed. Once sealed with Tescon Vana tape, no air can leak from around the pipe. Pro Clima Roflex heat-resistant EPDM rubber grommets can be used internally or externally on walls, ceilings, floors and roofs (of more than 15° of pitch). It is compatible with circular pipes, flues and ducts where you have access to one end and the temperature will not exceed 150°C. Access to a free end is required so the grommet can be slid onto the pipe or duct like a tight-fitting collar. Roflex can be used with pipe diameters of 15-320mm.

If the pipe is a flue and the temperature would exceed 150°C, the Eisedicht HotSchott grommet can be used instead. It can resist temperatures up to 250°C. Grommet strips are strips of material that sit over the edge of a panel. They are designed to improve the appearance or to protect the edge. Grommet strips are available in various lengths which are often able to be cut to size. There are heat-activated adhesive strips available too. When purchasing a rubber grommet you’ll be provided a lot of instant and useful features. The most potent one is resistance. 30mm rubber blanking grommet can resist fire, electricity, chemical damage, age, physical damage, and even most types of corrosion. Its sealing properties are potent too so you shouldn’t worry too much about the items that it has been used for. Even if there are immediate hazards that would damage other items, rubber grommets will endure.

The holes are pre-cut on all single-pipe Roflex grommets. The holes are undersized, and the EPDM rubber is very flexible easily fitting around pipes and duct penetrations passing through airtight materials. Rubber grommets have a ton of different types to consider. One of the most frequent differences they can have is whether they are blanking or non-blanking grommets. The non-blanking grommet is very simple and standard with an open hole in the middle. The blanking grommet, however, has its hole sealed.
