Description

Paul Weller's first solo release was "Into Tomorrow", released under the banner of The Paul Weller Movement. Despite a modest performance in the UK Singles Chart, the subsequent "Uh Huh, Oh Yeh" broke into the Top 20. Renewed interest in his work in the Britpop era resulted in 1995's Stanley Road providing his first two solo top ten singles. Weller's album chart performance has been especially strong, with five number one and seven number two albums. He has also scored five top ten and nineteen top twenty singles. He has also achieved significant chart activity in Japan. Ryan, Gavin (2011). Australia's Music Charts 1988–2010 (PDFed.). Mt Martha, Victoria, Australia: Moonlight Publishing. p.298. This double album includes the 4 hit singles taken from the seminal 1995 release Stanley Road: “Out of the Sinking”, “The Changingman”, “Broken Stones” and the timeless classic “You Do Something to Me”. Weller’s distinctive raw, bluesy style runs seamlessly throughout, from the chiming opening bars of “Sunflower” through to his strident debut solo single “Into Tomorrow”. Into The Trees' features the 3 singles from the Wild Wood LP plus 'Hung Up' which came out as a single after the album was released but was added to Wild Wood later CD pressings. The discography of Paul Weller, a successful solo artist previously a member of The Jam and The Style Council, consists of sixteen studio albums, [1] [2] five live albums, thirty-nine singles (not including re-releases or collaborations) [3] and three extended plays (EPs).
