Princess Visenya Targaryen, 03.10.300AAC, Bear Island SystemVisenya reflects on how Rhaegar was sure the North was hiding some secret shipyard - and how, as it turns out, all rumors about the base had been planted by the Northerners themselves to keep Rhaegar and the Council distracted while they just expanded the size of the shipyards that already existed. This happens as Baela guides her through the Heart of the North shipyard, while Baela tells her of some of the North's preparations for the war. During their talk, they become briefly interrupted by a red-haired free folk.

Part C: A Change of Strategy Lord Wyman Manderly, 01.07.290AAC, Moat Cailin SystemGreen Priest Syrme reports on the return of the Others, which causes great dismay among the Northern Lords: the Great Enemy is a very different beast from the southern loyalists. Divisions are formed on the strategy to follow, for the Others are the biggest threat to their survival, but the Targaryens are a threat to their southern flank and their allies in the Riverlands. Lord Stark makes the decision: the plans for war against the Targaryens will be changed, another plan will be made for a defensive war to support the Night's Watch, efforts will be made to rearm them - and a second plan is considered, to deal with the possibility that the North finds itself in a two-front war against the Others and the Southern Sectors: Operation Overlord. Sandor Clegane, 01.07.290AAC, Lannisport SystemPut in a Lannisport prison after their celebrations got out of control, Sandor Clegane, Raff Preslan and several others face the anger of Ayric Sarring. In punishment for their actions, Clegane and other five soldiers are sent to King's Landing, while the rest (including a demoted Preslan) will go on a classified mission. Combat Pragmatist: Loken, when challenged to a sparring match by Lucius, starts and finishes it by grabbing his sword arm and punching him in the face. He warned Lucius that the match wouldn't just be about the sword. Eada Haelfwulf and Ulvurul Heoroth, AKA, Longfang in Prospero Burns. Also, Thousand Son Astartes and the daemon bleed from the mouth, well as other orifices, when confronted with powerful marks of aversion and pariahs. Horus: They are a voice of reason in my ear when all around me is confusion. They are as dear to me as my brother Primarchs, and I value their counsel above all others. In them are the humours of choler, phlegm, melancholia, and sanguinity, mixed in exactly the right amount I need to keep me on the side of the angels. The story takes place in the Seven Sectors, one of the galaxy's main polities, united ever since Aegon Targaryen "the Conqueror" used his kilometer-long dragons to force the then disparate kingdoms to submit. Only Dorne resisted successfully, and even they ended up joining the Seven Sectors thanks to the diplomatic efforts of several Targaryen kings. A Thousand Sons describes the razing of Prospero, with the Vlka Fenryka coming on the eponymous planet to massacre its population. Prospero is defended by the Thousand Sons and the local militia, with the war climaxing with Magnus personally fighting Leman Russ in his own courtyard. At the end of Know No Fear, when Captain Ventanus and the 4th Company are on the verge of being overwhelmed by Hol Beloth, reinforcements show up, and by reinforcements, we mean the 19th Company under Captain Aethon, the remnants of the 111th and 112th Companies under Sergeant Anchise, three Titans under Tetrarch Tauro Nicodemus, and Army forces under Tetrarch Eikos Lamiad. They are pissed. Early books in the series show Sanguinius as "raven haired", when in Fear to Tread, he's suddenly the blonde that he's shown as literally everywhere else. This one is explained away in The Unremembered Empire. Much like the Emperor, some Primarchs, such as Sanguinius, are seen by others in the way that the viewer subconsciously finds most pleasing or suitable (or possibly in the way that the Primarch wants to be seen).

It’s also looking distinctly chaotic on Warhammer+ this week, with Battle Report showing a clash between the Sons of Horus and the Imperial Fists to demonstrate the new rules for Warhammer: The Horus Heresy. There’s also a Citadel Colour Masterclass on smoke effects, while the lore from Psychic Awakening books 4 and 5 come to the Warhammer Vault.Corvus Corax tried to replenish the ranks of the Raven Guard by recruiting young boys to turn them into Space Marines with improved genetech from the Emperor. However, the Alpha Legion put an end to this operation. Lord Edmure Tully, 19.08.300AAC, Riverrun System Edmure Tully preocuppies himself with finding a wife from the mountain of proposals that he has found on his desk. None of them fulfill his minimum requirements of beauty, lineage, loyalty and wealth. Know no Fear: Calth is devastated and the Ultramarines suffer catastrophic losses, but they manage to repel the Word Bearers and the troops and population on the surface still live defiantly in the face of annihilation.

Part C: Harrenhal Triumph Kevan Lannister, 18.07.283AAC, Harrenhal SystemIn the Harrenhal system, Kevan Lannister observes a parade carried out to celebrate the victory in the Trident, while his younger brothers Gerion and Tygett snark about their elder brother Lord Tywin Lannister, Mace Tyrell and the march of the war. Kevan notes that Tywin feels humiliated by the dragons even though he was instrumental to their victory. Rhaegar Targaryen's later arrival is diminished by the many scars left upon his face by Lyanna Stark. This stunning print of the cover art from the new codex is available exclusively from Games-Workshop.com. It’s been signed by the artist, and will be available in selected online bundles. Combat Patrol: Genestealer Cults Fear to Tread ends on the entire Blood Angel Legion engaging a host of daemons of Khorne and Slaanesh, Sanguinius pitting himself against Ka'Bandha, one of Khorne's most powerful Bloodthirsters. Horus performs one during the battle of Sixty-Three Nineteen, when he teleports into the throne room of the local "Emperor" who has activated a Doomsday Device, and both kills the Emperor and deactivates the device in a single shot, which saves Garviel Loken. Mechanicum features the start of the civil war between factions of the Mechanicum loyal to the Emperor and the separatists, with armies of Skitariis, entire Knight houses and Titan Legios being involved in the great war on Mars.Bear Hug: To the surprise of everyone, Lion El'Jonson gives Guilliman one when they meet on Macragge.

Blue Blood: Several characters, and many of them use their influence to get into positions of power, so many Imperial Army officers fill this trope as well. It's also present among their sons, here and there. In some Legions, the Terran Astartes are isolated or even ostracized, since they didn't come from the primarch's homeworld and/or didn't see eye-to-eye on tactics or ethics. Part A: The Lies of the Long Peace Ser Axell Florent, 08.07.300AAC, Pyke SystemThe situation in the Iron Sector is starting to get out of hand, as the Ironborn as a whole - save for the people of Harlaw System - have been engaging in a growing resistance movement against the forces occupying their planets ever since the end of the Greyjoy Rebellion. The worst of all is Gregor Clegane, who doesn't even attempt to coordinate efforts with the other leaders of the occupation forces. The others don't have it easier, though: the occupation is causing great stress to them and to their men. Borrowed Catchphrase: As Deathfire goes on, "Vulkan Lives" is slowly starting to get borrowed from Numeon by his companions, to the extent of becoming the Salamanders' war cry for a while. Ollanius Persson veers into Fights Like a Normal, as his superpower contributes indirectly, albeit greatly, to his fighting skills. It turns out he's one of the original Argonauts, and fought at Austerlitz, Verdun, and the Battle of 73 Easting.Cultural Posturing: There's a certain amount of this among several of the Legions, especially those who recruit primarily from one world. This tends to come from one of two points: the more sophisticated cultures such as Chemos and Macragge, and the less advanced and harder worlds such as Medusa, Fenris and Chogoris. Garlan then shows his plans, which call for House Tarly's ships to protect New Barrel and use new strategies developed from the experiences of the fighting against Dorne's fleets, which, Sam agrees, could work. However, in exchange of agreeing to the plan, Sam demands that House Tarly will only have to pay for the war pensions of the men sworn to him - which Willas knows is going to lead to further economic trouble for House Tyrell. ‘King Aegon VI Targaryen’, 08.11.300AAC, Highgarden SystemJacaerys Velaryon, surgically altered to resemble his cousin Aegon so no one will know of his current status, meets with Willas and Margaery, learning of the economic situation: unless drastic cuts are made to anything save for the most vital sectors, the Reach's economy will implode even if they win the war. The issue of Samwell Tarly being appointed to lead the defense of New Barrel is risen, but Willas honestly replies that Samwell is pretty much the only reliable commander available for the role.
