About this deal

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review! On the anniversary of Kim’s death her granddaughter, Megan, decides to revisit Kim’s storage unit to learn more about the mysterious man, Edward, who never ages, is never seen, and is rumored to be a monster. Marc Lee of The Daily Telegraph scored the film five out of five stars, writing, "Burton's modern fairytale has an almost palpably personal feel: it is told gently, subtly and with infinite sympathy for an outsider who charms the locals but then inadvertently arouses their baser instincts. Depp was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy, but lost to Gérard Depardieu of Green Card. Fans of the film should certainly check this out - and even if you're not a hardcore fan, give it a try and like me, you may find yourself pleasantly surprised and very interested in this new story line.

I get the feeling people just got this urge to want to leave me alone for some reason, I don't know exactly why. Overall I think Edward Scissorhands Volume 1: Parts Unknown is a great little graphic novel and love that the story of Edward is being shared with a new generation. The genesis of Edward Scissorhands came from a drawing by then-teenaged director Tim Burton, which reflected his feelings of isolation and being unable to communicate to people around him in suburban Burbank. It tells the story of an unfinished artificial humanoid who has scissor blades instead of hands that is taken in by a suburban family and falls in love with their teenage daughter. As I mentioned, ‘The Final Cut’ contains all 10 issues of the Edward Scissorhands comic book series, and within these we experience two major plot lines. Production then moved to a Fox Studios sound stage in Century City, California, where interiors of the mansion were filmed. If you would like to book a wheelchair space or if you have any special requirements, please phone the box office who can advise. I so expected to like this; obviously I was of the exact right time and temperament for the film, and I generally love Kate Leth's stuff. I’ve been a big fan of the 1990 Tim Burton film for a long time and even used it as inspiration for a project whilst at university back in 2008.

One snowy evening, an elderly woman tells her granddaughter the bedtime story of a young man named Edward, who has scissor blades for hands. The film won the British Academy Film Award for Best Production Design and the Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation, in addition to receiving multiple nominations at the Academy Awards, British Academy Film Awards, and the Saturn Awards. As well as following the journey of Eli, the first story also introduces us to new members of the Boggs family and reintroduces us to Edward; and Although we bypass the latter years of Kim’s life, we do get to meet the family she has left behind, and follow their journey as the Boggs’ and Edward Scissorhands finally get to know one another in person.
