Guardian is a 2 star Support Spirit that grants any fighter it is attached to a passive Weapon Resist Increase stat, decreasing the damage the equipped fighter takes from enemies wielding weapons such as swords or whips. It's a lovely collectors piece and apparently adds some nice items in game but I haven't plucked up the courage to open it yet. The limbs are pretty interesting and I’ll talk about those next but I definitely was surprised Guardian wasn’t a little taller.

The cardboard flooring of the box is printed to look like a lush grassy area of land with stone cobble paths and bricks scattered, just like in the game, and it serves to create a micro-vignette when viewing from above. I love the look and feel of this one above all the others, and it always holds pride of place amidst my collection. It has a NFC (near field communicater) in its base that can be used once a day to unlock materials and weapons not readily available in game (on both Wii U and Switch versions).

Does its NXTPAPER technology make it an adequate blend of Android tablet and e-reader for enhanced productivity?

If you compare the costs and the amount of content they provide, the amiibo will never come close to being comparable in value to the game. My kids have had a blast playing with it outside the game, it gives you great rewards in Breath of the Wild, and I love it as a collectible.

The art style and the overall design both hit me square in the feels and gave me a thirst for merch. I'm a collector (I don't resell them) and I am very impressed with the design and packaging of the Guardian. Yes" I believe that paid DLC allows developers to release something closer to their original vision.
