Photographs can be taken without the need for high amounts of lighting and moving subjects can be photographed with ease.

However, it is worth being very familiar with how to change your ISO setting quickly, since it’s something you will likely be adjusting quite often, especially if you shoot in low light conditions without a tripod or flash.

Sometimes air can get trapped inside the isolators which cause the tubes to not be seated properly and ultimately the frames will be uneven. Get out of Auto mode, and go to Manual, Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority, or Program (we tend to prefer Aperture Priority or Manual). The difference is clear – the image at ISO 3200 has much more noise than the one at ISO 200 (which I brightened with a long shutter speed instead). Well, the major camera brands offer some form of automatic ISO selection with various shooting modes and, for the most part, you can safely select that and feel confident that the image itself will show little to no noise within the range of ISO that film was generally available in.

Fast speed film should not be used in bright conditions or images that you would like to enlarge more than 8×10 inches. There have been a huge number of different attempts to agree on a universal standard of film sensitivity. If you’re using uncompressed files, your image almost behaves like you were changing ISO—without much more noise!
