About this deal

Japanese bars and distilleries are famous for producing some of the most inventive and unique drinking experiences thanks to their attention to detail and access to a wide variety of natural ingredients.

The Atelier features four distinct types of pot stills, and in a process unique to Roku, the botanicals are distilled separately according to each feature to extract the best flavour and maintain their individual characteristics. In the city of Kyoto, Japan's ground zero for all things traditional, you can wander from sake brewery to sake brewery in the Fushimi Sake district and dine at some of Japan's most elegant restaurants. While gin might be more associated with the English countryside, Japanese expressions have grown in popularity over recent years and developed a deserved reputation for quality.Sakura flower, Sakura leaf, Yuzu peel, Sencha tea (green tea), Gyokuro tea (refined green tea) and Sanshō pepper. You should also note that the picture images show only our serving suggestions of how to prepare your food - all table accessories and additional items and/or ingredients pictured with the product you are purchasing are not included. Shinjiro overcame numerous hardships to make his dream a reality, creating wine, whisky and brandy, and launching the first Suntory gin in 1936. As with Japanese whisky before it, Japanese gin has quickly made a name for itself on the global stage. Gins produced in the southern tropical regions of Okinawa combine the woodsy flavor of juniper with local fruits like shikuwasa and kabosu.

Distillers experiment with both the range and the ratio of botanicals, often drawing on Japan’s four distinct seasons for inspiration. When looking to pair, always consider the main flavour profiles of the gin chosen, which can easily be determined from the main botanicals used. Made from six Japanese botanicals grown across all four seasons in Japan, and in conjunction with other botanicals commonly found in gins, the Suntory Roku Gin contrasts sublime notes of citrus with a slightly spicy finish to make for a highly refreshing and distinctly Japanese drinking experience. I'm a gin lover and was lucky enough to sample this for free, as part of a product sampling programme. Other notable examples include the Japanese Gin Martini, which again uses ginger as the garnish, and is expertly made in bars and restaurants across the country.NID cookie, set by Google, is used for advertising purposes; to limit the number of times the user sees an ad, to mute unwanted ads, and to measure the effectiveness of ads. In Japan, Roku means "the number six", and each bottle is infused with six unique Japanese botanicals that ripen throughout the year. International spirits competitions regularly award top honours to Japanese gins for their quality and innovation. Traditional gin taste in the base, plus characteristic Japanese botanical notes with yuzu as the top note. The complex and well balanced flavour of Roku is the result of the unique sensitivity captured in the blending of the carefully crafted extracts of the carefully selected botanicals.
