html and then I checked to see what one of my favourite sketchers was using and found this: http://jeanmackayart. One downside is it's difficult to differentiate the cool from warm grays based on the colours of the caps. It features 48 half pan watercolour paints which have been formulated to blend easily and create an endless range of colours. The main reason I don’t use cloth is I can’t figure out what the paint would do in a washing machine full of clothes. Colours include Silver, Light Gold, Deep Gold, Copper, Pearl Yellow, Pearl Orange, Pearl Pink, Pearl Red, Pearl Purple, Pearl Light Blue, Pearl Blue, Pearl Prussian Blue, Pearl Pale Green, Pearl Green, Pearl Green Deep, Pearl Brown, Fluorescent Yellow, Fluorescent Orange, Fluorescent Red, Fluorescent Rose, Fluorescent Magenta, Fluorescent Violet, Fluorescent Blue, Fluorescent Green.

The paper should be quite durable too because the marker is water-based and if you have too many wet layers, the paper fiber will start to come off. A tiny bit of rubber cement could be used to secure the plastic pans down in the palette, and this way they remain removable. Anything that removes some barriers gets bumped up in the queue, and since I've purchased this kit I've found myself watercoloring more often, and enjoying it more than before. You can see in the reference photo this is another typical characteristic of the markings found on koi fish.If we left all the analysis at this point, you would say, “Well for heaven’s sake, why would anyone bother getting the Winsor and Newton over the Sakura if there’s only a tiny difference? I used a very diluted mixture of neutral orange to add more shadow shapes to the undersides, to give more definition to the fins and add a few details. These portable watercolor sets are perfect to bring along whether you’re going to the countryside, relaxing at the beach, or walking urban landscapes. Compact pocket-sized 'Koi Watercolours Sketch Box 18' with specially selected pigments for watercolour painting ‘on the go’ with a range of vibrant watercolour paints. On the back side of the case there is a small ring that can be flipped out so you can hold it easier if you are painting outside, or on the couch.

The case is made of good sturdy plastic and so is the mixing tray, it's a pitty the inlay tray is flimsy plastic that can easily tear/bend if your not careful. Colours include Aureoline Hue, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Cadmium Red Hue, Carmine, Cerulean Blue Hue, Chinese White, Cobalt Blue Hue, Cobalt Violet Hue, Crimson Lake, Deep Madder, Emerald Green, Fluorescent Blue, Fluorescent Green, Fluorescent Magenta, Fluorescent Orange, Fluorescent Red, Fluorescent Rose, Fluorescent Violet, Fluorescent Yellow, Gamboge, Hooker Green Light, Indanthrene Blue, Indian Red, Indian Yellow, Indigo, Ivory Black, Jaune Brilliant, Lamp Black, Lemon Yellow, Light Red, Madder Lake Light, Mars Violet, Metallic Copper, Metallic Deep Gold, Metallic Light Gold, Metallic Silver, Naples Yellow, Neutral Tint, Olive Green, Payne’s Gray, Permanent Blue Green, Permanent Blue Light, Permanent Blue Red, Permanent Blue Violet, Permanent Green, Permanent Green Deep, Permanent Green Pale, Permanent Orange, Permanent Red Deep, Permanent Red Light, Permanent Yellow, Permanent Yellow Deep, Permanent Yellow Light, Phthalocyanine Green, Pink Madder, Prussian Blue, Purple, Quinacridone Rose, Raw Sienna, Raw Umber, Sap Green, Sepia, Terre Verte, Turquoise Blue, Ultramarine Deep, Ultramarine Light, Ultramarine Violet, Vandyke Brown, Vermilion Hue, Viridian Hue, and Yellow Ochre.I personally don’t have a use for the ring because I always paint just at my desk, but I’ve tried out just holding it and it works very well. The Sakura site contains no info on this, but I’ve read on some blogs that there are lightfastness and/or fugitive pigment issues. Out of respect for these products and all the people who have loved using them, I wanted to wait until I’d used all of them for some time so that my review would be valid, and I had examples of work done with them.
