Of course, the G513 Carbon being a gaming keyboard and the year being 2018, there would simply have to be an RGB lighting angle. Since it's designed for gaming, the G513 has some programmable keys, customization software, RGB backlighting, and a USB passthrough. Of course, if this is your first time dabbling with making your keyboard your own that's not going to be such a major flaw, but if you're used to having each command within easy reach this is going to take some adjusting. While I’ve liked their keyboards fine overall, I always use them with the Romer-G stuff turned off if I can. What I don't like about the G513 is that it requires two USB ports, one for the keyboard and one for the USB passthrough.
The white lighting does seem a bit blue-ish but I don’t really mind as I never use white lighting in my RGB set-up. Convenient USB passthrough port makes it a snap to plug in your mouse, flash drive or phone for direct data transmission or charging. Dedicated media buttons was something I though I can live with on a shortcut, it after using this keyboard for so long, they just make the everyday experience so much better.If you're willing to do without the dedicated macro keys and media controls of the sublime K95, it's a strong alternative. Then the cable frayed and rather than going through them I just bought a new one on the rain forest. In my two weeks with the product, keypresses have been consistently smooth and devoid of the soupy texture I’ve come to expect from Romer-G.
