About this deal

My only concern is the size of the font and the incredibly thin paper on which it is printed- almost 3000 pages crammed into a thickness of 73mm. The numbers hide the fact that it's a metric system, dimensioned in logical numbers of Communistic French Millimetres, and based on the Swiss Thury system which has a 47. Kemp's Engineers' Year Book has a lot about thread systems, different in different editions - my father had the 1950 edition (I wish I knew where it is now!

This article includes a list of references, related reading, or external links, but its sources remain unclear because it lacks inline citations. From at least the mid-1930s the British Standards Institution recommended the use of BA threads for anything under 1/4" except, for some reason, 7/32" BSF. A team of professionals has expertly processed each page, delicately preserving its content without alteration. The allure continues with Golden Leaf Printing that adds a touch of elegance, while Hand Embossing on the rounded spine lends an artistic flair. The Guide to the Use of Tables and Formulas in the Machinery's Handbook, 31st Edition, is designed to maximize the enormous practical value of the latest, greatest edition of this invaluable engineering resource, offering useful information on how to make full use of the Machinery's Handbook in solving problems on the job.

Since the first edition published more than 100 years ago, Machinery’s Handbook has been acknowledged as an exceptionally authoritative and comprehensive, yet highly practical, and easy-to-use tool, and the new 31st edition has grown to nearly 3,000 pages. Dust Jackets are not guaranteed and when still present, they will have various degrees of tear and damage. Practical Machinist is the easiest way to learn new techniques, get answers quickly and discuss common challenges with your peers.

That's the kind of thing I am looking for - something encyclopedic that would cover former practices as well as current practices. Forge welding scarfs were the standard when the 1st edition was published and the chart above (right) introduced the welding section until at least the 15th edition. There were other specialised threads, such as the Admiralty Fine series and the Royal Microscope Society thread, but they used the Whitworth profile. All used books might have various degrees of writing, highliting and wear and tear and possibly be an ex-library with the usual stickers and stamps.

Materials densities and other properties such as coefficient of friction are also included in the many charts. Allerdings sollte einem bewusst sein, dass 90% der Tabellen auf Amerikanischen Normen und Einheiten ausgelegt sind und damit in Europa bzw. The 30th edition was available in both toolbox and large print edition sizes, as well as in an eBook format.Math, Measurement, and Dimensioning: Reorganized, revised, and expanded sections provide ready access to clear information, essential formulas, and everyday calculations and conversions. I used it in high-school occasionally to manually model threads alongside the dimensions them outlined in the book. Thousands of Revisions: A world-class team of technical experts, educators, editors, and illustrators has contributed to new, revised, and updated text, tables, equations, figures. Additive Manufacturing: Expert discussions, exploring 3D printing materials, techniques, and workflow, compare traditional machining to today’s additive manufacturing processes.
