After yesterday’s 76217 I Am Groot reveal, LEGO.com have unveiled another new Marvel set this one for the Iron Man fans with a refreshed 76216 Iron Man Armoury, slated for a 1 June 2022 release worldwide. They’re quite easy to replicate infinitely, and I think these are a big improvement over the predominantly greyer older versions. The set includes at least one robot arm in the form of DUM-E which, along with a large tool chest and drill press, provides Tony with all the equipment he needs for constructing new suits and weapons.

Tony’s also got a pair of desks. One features some computer displays and blueprints, along with a hinged arm to support under-construction suit pieces. Personally, my favourite is the Silver Centurion one – which is one of my favourite LEGO Iron Man armours of all time. There’s Tony’s workbench, and tools, which kinda look like the ones from the movie, mostly because they’re red. The Arc Reactor on the tool bench is quite nice.Summer LEGO Super Mario set lineup featuring LEGO Princess Peach officially revealed! [LEGO Super Mario] Iron Man fans and completionists are going to love this set, as it’s a really complete set, with plenty of cool features like new Iron Man armor, as well as printed glass elements and display panels to complete the look. Additionally, a car is also included in the set – I’m not 100% sure if it’s an Audi R8 Spyder that we see Tony Stark zipping around the movies with, but it’s a fun little addition that adds a bit more playability to the set.

I might warm to the new Iron Man helmets, and for many LEGO Iron Man fans, they probably won’t have a choice, especially if LEGO opt to use this as the default moving forward, but 10 years after its introduction, it feels like saying goodbye to an old friend. Because of all of this, and not much newness introduced (War Machine and Mark 25 nonwithstanding), I feel like the asking price is way too high, and this set does not deliver sufficient value, especially if you are a hardcore LEGO Marvel fan who is dying to expand your Iron Man armour collection.This is an Iron Man Armoury set, so the main drawcards are the Iron Man armours, and this set comes with four, along with one new never-before-seen-in-LEGO ones – Iron Man Mark 25 (with the punchy gloves), as well as Mark 85 (in this configuration), his most advanced armour, powered by advanced nanotechnology and seen in Avengers-Endgame.
