Jess can’t believe the stories that Grandad tells her about his days out birdwatching. ‘Birdwatching is fun!’ says Grandad, but Jess is not so sure. Jess decides she will have to go with him and find out for herself. When she does, she finds an amazing story of her own to share with Grandad. Simon’s Comments People love to send me films and I have been sent this one quite a few times over the last few weeks. The second part of the writing will involve a number of persuasive devices such as repetition to echo the forest and rhetorical questions to make the audience think. In 2022, the European Parliament voted to classify carbon-free nuclear energy as “sustainable” and to include it in an important list called the “Green Taxonomy'' for sustainable finance. This was a HUGE win for science and a MASSIVE bit of good news for me and my gener ation. a remarkable amount of humor and emotional truth… an endearing book’ Wall Street Journal Simon’s Comments

https://images.google.by/url?sa=t&url=https://www.liveinternet.ru/users/gusionsaber/post499368810// A simple, warm hearted and humorous book with charming illustrations. The correspondence could spark ideas for letter writing in the classroom setting. Although Emily receives unquestionably polite but incredulous answers like this one each time she writes, she does not stop pestering Greenpeace for advice. For there is a huge, blue whale in her pond in Plymouth, Devonshire, England, and who would be more capable of helping her make him feel comfortable than the famous experts on all things wildlife and environmental? If you could write a letter to anybody, who would you write to? Could you write and send your letter to them? Worried that the whale living in her pond is unhappy, Emily embarks on a correspondence with Greenpeace which, despite offering the best of advice, insists that it would be impossible for a whale to live in a pond. Undeterred, young Emily continues to seek the best course of action for her beloved whale, finally setting him free.Meanwhile, Emily's relationship with her whale 'Arthur' grows. She salts the water for him and feeds him cornflakes and breadcrumbs. My generation trusts respected bodies like the IPCC who say that we can’t meet the Paris climate goals without nuclear energy. Put simply, we trust the science. Our real enemy isn’t the EU’s support for nuclear energy, it’s FOSSIL FUELS. The text font was a good idea, as it helps differentiate between the letters between Emily and Greenpeace. It was nicely applied. A breath of fresh air… Witty and sparkling line-and-wash pictures… Full of humour and vitality.’ The Guardian Simon’s Comments

I think this book would've been more interesting if the child were writing a marine biologist and not Greenpeace. Because of that choice, it feels fluffy and like an organisation doesn't care about a child's imagination? It's weird. I don't like it as it is, and it could've been done far better.Following the reading sessions, we then decided that we would write letters to the Prime Minister in protest against palm oil products in the UK. A wonderful and thought provoking story which would be ideal for many topics and themes: animals and their habitats, the environment, looking after the world around us - to name but a few. This story encourages empathy and care of animals and the world around us and in could provoke some powerful thoughts and writing from children. The perfect introduction to learning about our planet and the importance of caring for it. Baby London Look at photos of whales and use these as the starting point for your own illustrations, pictures and paintings. Delightfully illustrated… An appealing variety of short poems… James truly values the moment, and young readers will value this book.”
