Description

The materials used to make the FlyCreek tent are definitely of a better quality than those of the CloudUp 2. However, according to what people are saying online, the difference is really negligible (again, I personally haven’t tried out the FlyCreek). The Cloud Up performs well in the wind, too. A combination of a strong frame, low peak height, and half-dome design will keep it standing if bad weather rolls in. As you can see from the photo above, the Cloud Up 1 has only 1 entrance and vestibule. Although the vestibule doesn’t leave huge amounts of space for gear storage, it looks perfectly adequate for 1 person on a relatively short trip. Snap verdict

For the price, the quality is excellent. Also, I would trust this tent to keep me warm and dry in the wet weather. INSECT PROOF - with B3 breathable mesh, you can still ventilate your tent without 10 million mosquitoes inviting themselves in for the evening. Front vestibule: It makes the inner space larger, and personal hiking gear can also be placed in the front door area.

Cloud Up 2 vs. Cloud Up 3

The only downside I can see is the relatively limited gear storage space. Although the Cloud Up 1 is also a little heavier than some of the other tents we have reviewed, it should be kept in mind that it’s both double-skinned and also freestanding. Taking that into account, both the weight and price of this thing are actually quite impressive. If you want to get a version of the Cloud 1 with an extra vent for increased airflow and reduced condensation, you can opt for the upgraded version. SUPER LIGHTWEIGHT - This tent is insanely light at only 1460 grams - including pegs and poles!! At the same time it has better waterproofing and is more snow resistant than it's cousins in orange and green.

Green. Various shades of green seem to be available, some of which look remarkably alike! Shades we’ve seen listed include light green, (just) green, forest green, olive green, mustard green and even a wasabi green. There doesn’t seem to be an apple green or a grass green but hopefully they’ll launch those soon. Anyway, your best bet is to just choose the colour you like the look of and ignore the random naming convention. The overall sentiment about the Cloud Up 1 is that it’s a high-quality and reliable shelter for outdoor adventures. So, what’s the verdict after our first look at the Naturehike Cloud Up Tent? We went into this expecting to find a perhaps slightly lower quality (given the price) version of the Big Agnes Fly Creek. But to be honest, the quality of craftsmanship looks very impressive. I would say almost comparable to the Fly Creek itself. I love that this tent has two doors because it really does transform your camping experience if you are sharing your tent. It also has sealed seams to protect you from the rain; these seams aren’t always present in Naturehike tents. You can get an upgraded version with a second vent, which I highly recommend you do. It will be worth it in the long run because you won’t end up having to buy a better-ventilated tent as you progress in your camping journey. That said, you have to bear in mind that low-budget gear won’t be the best for extreme conditions, and it’s not reasonable to expect it to perform as well as top-of-the-range expedition gear. As a general rule, 2-person tents are for 1 person. The Cloud Up 2 is no exception. It is going to be a tight fit for two adults. However, my tween daughter and I fit in the tent fine, even with gear. It’s also very roomy for two kids. I love that this tent makes exploring the outdoors more affordable. It just goes to show that you don’t need to be super rich or have the most expensive kit to get out into nature. If you’re going to be covering long distances in reasonably mild weather, the Vik 1 would be the best choice. For a wetter and windier itinerary, I’d take the slightly heavier Taga 2.

It shares the same overall design as the Hilleberg but the materials are obviously not as high-quality in an entry-level version. The video below shows the Naturehike Cloud Up 2 in really high winds. It’s not my video, but it gives you a good idea. INSECT PROOF - As above, the B3 mesh will keep the creepy crawlies out while still allowing ventilation on those hot and humid camping trips.

Setup

As with all tents, you will need to regularly treat your tent with a waterproof coating; otherwise, it will start to leak over time. It has some really cool features to optimize comfort. For example, small magnets are sewn into the door fabric to make coming and going as easy as possible. You can also set up a little sheltered foyer with your trekking poles by slotting them into the notches in the tent door.

Before investing your hard-earned money in a new tent, you need to know whether it’s the right choice for you. Cope with changeable weather: Made of lightweight and wearable 20D nylon silicone material (210T polyester plaid fabric material) as well as waterproof coating and waterproof about 4000+ (210T polyester plaid fabric can reach 3000 +), making it good enough to meet your rain-proof need while camping. The guylines’ dark color makes them easy to trip over at night—and the last thing you need is an injury when you’re lost in the great outdoors. WATERPROOF & WINDPROOF - with silicone taped seams and a waterproof rating of 3000MM, these tents are the pinnacle of Polyurethane coated Polyester greatness! The ventilation is a bit limited in this tent, with just a single vent in the sleeping compartment. I also don’t like the fact that the vestibule is so small, as it’s a lot less comfortable to sleep alongside your kit. The 7001 series aluminum poles are rugged enough for most of the conditions you’re likely to face, and the tent’s 20D ripstop nylon fabric is highly tear-resistant. Mesh design: B3 mesh design for perfect mosquitoe-free protection and better breathability of the tent. For the vast majority of campers and climates, though, Naturehike tents are a comfortable and reliable choice.
