Thankfully, Epos bundles two sets of wires, a longer one that splits into a headphone and mic output, and a second, shorter one that ends on a single 3. The low-end isn't extremely overpowering, but it's more than I'm accustomed to with my headset daily drivers (currently alternating between Sennheisser's Momentum 3 and Anker's excellent Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro earbuds). Opening it up, we see the H6PRO itself, which comes sitting in a pre-cut foam insert which is glued into the bottom of the box.

However, the EPOS H6PRO performs admirably in just about every respect and is a noticeable step up from rival gaming headsets. The ear cups conform to the head with dual-axis hinges and are spacious despite having an unusual shape. Obviously, there is no Bluetooth as this is a wired headset, but this means there are no latency issues the audio quality is superb and you don’t have to worry about any batteries running out. However, those of you who wish to have a more focused soundscape and block out external sounds, go for the closed variant. The Open Acoustic’s earcups are entirely padded with the smooth suede material, which makes it prone to audio leakage, but it is necessary to keep the sound as airy as possible to give the open-back drivers more room to expand the soundstage. So, EPOS produce “high-end” enterprise and gaming headsets and we’ve been sent the H6PRO closed gaming headset.

The earpads are made from a velvet/suede-like material which sits around your ears and faux leather makes another appearance around the edges. Punchy clear piano notes, heavy guitar riffs, clear solos and thumping melodies for a motherboard amp. I’ve previously looked into the difference between open and closed headphones and found that open headphones give a better, more accurate soundstage. This lightweight headset features an updated slim headband with improved padding, plus 2-axis hinged ear cups that conform to your unique anatomy.

The ear cups on both of the headsets feel distinctively different due to the materials used, but they are equally comfortable and do not generate much heat even after having them on for several hours.

By that I do not mean that they have flat characteristics, but Epos has tuned in them in a particular way where all the three quadrants - the lows, mids, and highs - are produced in rich detail without either of them overpowering the other. It should be noted that I also wear glasses and a common issue is that headphones can cause discomfort because they’re too tight. The H6 Pro is available in three colours: Sebring Black, Ghost White and the gorgeous Racing Green, which incorporates some gold accenting on each ear cup and either side of the headband that just flashes premium without being tacky. The assertion of superior comfort is evident through our thorough analysis of the headset's features and extensive hands-on testing.
