Description

The Maxtrac outsole is the perfect combination of grip, traction and durability to tackle the toughest of terrain in the worst conditions and canted lugs underneath the metatarsals provide traction from the toe off.

I found the upper to be incredibly strong, thanks to a lack of stitching, except for in the toe guard. Finally, the lacing is simply phenomenal, mine looked great in pink, and the flat profile with enough stretch and squish makes for a really solid score of 45. If you are running up to a half marathon we would advise going up a half a size to your normal shoe size. Some say that the shoes are perfect for their feet and that the sole has enough cushioning to protect their feet. Please Note: Shipments sent outside of the UK are sold exclusive of VAT and may be subject to local import duties and taxes.Footshape toe box: You develop a better proprioception for more comfort and stability on ascents and descents. Whether you’re a dedicated zero-drop runner, just dipping your toe into it for the first time, or like to spice up your rotation with something new, I can attest that the Altra Lone Peak 6 is a solid workhorse of a trail running shoe. While it can't be classified as a minimalist (barefoot) shoe because of the cushioning underfoot, it still offers a wide toe box for toes to splay and zero drop (flat with no heel) allowing our feet to function naturally. There’s just something about the way the Altra looks at trail running that leaves very little room for improvement in our eyes. An update on previous versions, the quick-dry air mesh used on the upper part of the shoe is not only more breathable, but it has improved durability and security.

The Loan Peak has a little more cushioning (25mm) than the Superior (21mm), an integrated stone guard for more protection and a grippier outsole for more traction. Superb for trails and paths of all variety and technicality, an updated StoneGuard™ brings an extra layer of rock protection to save your feet from a battering. It is advisable to pop to your local running specialist and try on a few different brands, on the treadmill if possible, to get a feel for the shoes. The FootShape toe box is designed to let your toes relax and spread naturally for extra stability and comfort uphill and downhill. I further understand that violation of this policy may lead to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

Whether you're a first-timer or a top athlete, since 2015 we've been sharing with you our love of good gear and our passion for the steep trails we love to run around on. The back of the shoe provides a rear brake in the form of an extended outsole to really give you extra grip on the downhills. Interessanterweise stinken sie auch nicht so extrem übel, wie "normale" Wanderschuhe, bei denen man nach einer Woche dann doch lieber zum Bunsenbrenner, als zum Deo greift. Not only do they give my feet room to spread and breathe, the grip underneath has helped me improve my running enormously and I'm able to run further, whilst enjoying feeling more of the ground underneath but confident that the sole has enough cushioning to protect my feet.

It also reconfigured the Lone Peak’s closure system with additional midfoot lacing, making the 6 feel slightly more secure than its predecessor, which testers had described as having a “sloppy” fit unless they tinkered with the laces. Advice for Trail Runners: The iconic Lone Peak 6 in the Dusty Olive colourway is a fantastic choice if you’re heading for hard-packed or technical trails and need some robust underfoot protection!

running machine to find out which trainers suited me best and they proceeded to try numerous pairs to find out which would sort my problem. For neutral runners who want a go-to zero-drop shoe, I can confirm that the Altra Lone Peak 6 is a brilliant, reliable option for anything from shorter, speed workouts on the trail to full-on marathon-length runs.

Here it’s the velcro gaiter attachment on the heel, which helps you really waterproof your runs alongside the lacing attachment on the forefoot. Rest assured you wont need to pay for the exchanged parcel to come back to you, we’ve got it covered! This evolution’s updated upper construction and customizable lacing system provides a more secure fit so you can take on the trails with confidence. Luckily, I don’t think many users go for the Lone Peak series for a super cloud-like midsole, while Hoka doesn’t make a proper zero-drop trail shoe yet, there are options out there if you want that natural stride, but with a lot of cushioning. This shoe now tips the scales at just under 20 ounces per pair, an impressive feat considering the thickness of the midsole. This will concentrate the force of the impact toward the outside area of the forefoot leading to some runners that supinate experiencing foot pain or even stress fractures as a result. The foot shape toe box allows your toes to spread out more naturally, offering greater comfort and stability in uphill climbs and downhill descents. These items include but are not limited to; harness, ropes, belay equipment, karabiners, helmets, climbing protection.
