They mention that it is a good product, with a great handwriting experience and awesome battery life.

The best ones are NeoReader and BooxDrop, the latter of which allows the drag-and-drop of files via a web browser. Turning off the personalised advertising setting won’t stop you from seeing Etsy ads, but it may make the ads you see less relevant or more repetitive. Both the native note-taking and reading apps are excellent and if it cannot do something natively, there may be the option to expand software capabilities by installing third-party apps. Each brush has up to 20 different line thicknesses and there are 16 different colours to choose from. Its matte finish diffuses light so is readable in almost all environments, and when the lights drop, you can manipulate both the warm and cool front light.

This brings the e-ink slate’s accessories more in line with the competition, though the pen isn’t the most multi-functional on the block. The storage/files app shows the most commonly used folders of the home directory; Documents, Images, Download, Bluetooth, Music, Videos, APK and Font. After all, running Android apps like Gmail, there’s a good chance you’ll want your tab to have the very latest security updates, and my Note Air 2 Plus didn’t seem to at the time of writing. Smart, stylish, premium and powerful for an e-ink tablet, the Boox Note Air 2 Plus is as good as it gets when it comes to 10in E Ink slates that need to run third-party apps, even if it isn’t as streamlined or refined as some competition.

If you want a reading tool, though, and aren't a fan of your Kindle's small screen and its limited app support, this is a perfect step up for anyone who can justify the cost.

Performance isn't the sprightliest; the Note Air 2 doesn't feel as fast as an iPad, but performs acceptably. Onyx has improved both the pen magnet and case adhesion by adding magnets to the back – a huge improvement on both counts. But can Onyx hold its own with its slender E Ink slate, or does the recent flurry of competition put the once E Ink pioneer on the back foot? However, the monochrome display does limit the device slightly, making pictures in books and articles more difficult to distinguish. In addition, the clip-on mechanism meant that it was never at risk of falling off or becoming displaced, unlike the case on the Huawei MatePad Paper.

You can tap some options deep in the settings, and in my experience, finalize it by logging into Gmail via the browser. Personalised advertising may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of information under California and other state privacy laws, and you may have a right to opt out. At the time of its release, this was the highest-spec e-ink tablet (and it is still not too shabby today). Models from the Tab series are built with a dedicated GPU and Boox’s proprietary Super Refresh technology. Some mention that the app that comes with it is easy to use and can export to Onenote and that the magnet design allows for easy attachment of the stylus.
