Takes a bit of adjustment for people who have muscle-memory from using the old trident controller, but once you get past that bit of re-learning, it's wonderful. I was surprised at how comfortable I found the inverse trident design of the original controller, something I didn't expect after 20 years (! The Retro Fighters logo there is rather distracting, but all companies tend to put their branding on the forefront. I once have thought that the original N64 controller was the only way to go until you guys came along! But I was really disappointed to find out that the version 1 orange that matched the fantastic orange console has been changed to be a much more reddish brownish sort of orange. They claim the stick is more accurate when I've done testing and it's extremely oversensitive and not balanced properly, therefore making the original more accurate and this statement comes from big name YouTubers such as Anthony from LTT making a complete lie. The PCB is clear with no 90-degree turns, but I am a bit disappointed to see that epoxy blob in there. I initially purchased it to use for my first playthrough of Goldeneye 007 but since I have found it to be a great choice not only for N64 games but also SNES, Genesis, and even Dreamcast games! Never used them with the Pi (AFAIR the wired ones dont work anyway with Raspberrys) but i can highly recommend these pads for owners of real N64s. You can easily go from NSO N64 button layout to the traditional Switch Pro controller button layout with a quick press of the new “Swap” button. Don’t get me wrong I was a fan of the original but when the analog stick wore out the aftermarket for them wasn’t great. Since the launch of the best-selling Retro Fighters Brawler64 controller three years ago, the most requested feature has been the incorporation of wireless technology.

The three prong build is visually interesting and nostalgic, but what Retro Fighters have done is great.Finally a decent wireless n64 controller has been released for the Switch/PC and will work on the Pi. You already love the Brawler64 Bluetooth for your switch games, and the ease of jumping into classic NSO games at the push of a button. The dongle can be a bit unwieldy, but otherwise the pros of not being bound by a wire outweigh the odd feel of the controller.
