About this deal

It's a case of a very old, not so good product being so popular that it still sells like hot pancakes because of word of mouth marketing. RGB in the Palm of Your Hand with Included Wired RGB Controller – A compact size RGB LED controller that allows you to easily customize your RGB devices without the need for either an RGB capable motherboard or software. This new design feels like a proper solution, and should help with a more secure fit compared to the older design. The all-black version (model RR-212S-20PK-R1) presents a more stealthy appearance, and those who are not looking for the RGB experience will likely opt for that model instead.

With a demonstrated drive to continuously improve, it's no wonder they are one of the world's leading DIY PC components manufacturers. The controller is powered by a standard 4-pin MOLEX connector and provides power and RGB functions to the fan’s LEDs. From a looks perspective, the fan looks like it would do a good job moving a large amount of air, so we’ll see how it does during our tests later on in the review. The bracket for the Black Edition assembles quickly using the appropriate screws and plastic end-caps, and bolts into place with a little less trouble than the previous Hyper 212 EVO. The Hyper 212 Black Edition coolers, available with or without an RGB fan, add a level of style that had been missing from the 212 EVO, trading exposed copper heat pipes and bare aluminum heatsink fins for a polished, all-black finish. If I do a stress test temps like Cinebench it easily goes to the mid 90s, which is really near my CPU's TJmax. With the Cinebench R23 multi core test, the Ryzen 5 5600 achieved an average CPU CCD1 reading of 62. Apply thermal paste (a little goes a long way), and torque down the heatsink to the backplate, each screw a little at a time. The brushed aluminum panel added to the top of the cooler adds a few points to the overall quality look and feel of the cooler, something the previous generations of Hyper 212 coolers lacked.

I know a lot of you guys may be wondering why I decided to go with a 2600X versus a 2600 and the simple answer to that is that the 2600X has a 95 watt TDP rating compared to the 65 watt TDP rating on the 2600 so it actually pushes the limits on these coolers when it comes to performance. The main square back plate sits behind the CPU and provides through-hole screws to the front of the motherboard for securely mounting the heatsink. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition, afaik, is one of the best bang for the buck cooler out there. The RGB Black Edition cooler combines a bit of stealthy and some RGB flashiness which would look great in a windowed case.

on paper it's still a budget- friendly option but it will be interesting to see if its performance still lives up to the Hyper 212 name. The Hyper 212 Black Edition offers better installation and great performance, easily one of the best air cooling solutions. No surprise that the RGB edition produced slightly better results than the non-RGB version as it does come equipped with a slightly more powerful fan. During testing, the default fan curves were used, and the approximate temperature of the test bench's surroundings was measured to be around 29°C.

Precise Air Flow with Nickel Black – Stacked fin array ensures least airflow resistance which allows cooler air flow into the heatsink.
