Great books recommended and the list at the end is great which means more to add to my tbr pile and some I already have. There are a real range of reasons that people turn to books when they are compulsorily stuck at home from domestic abuse through loneliness, insecurity, love stories and the inevitable deaths from COVID.

Others flit in and out of the book and we get to know their situations and the unique pressures facing each of them at that time. Some of these books I own, and want to read even more now; some I have read and enjoyed the small summery to remind me why I loved them and some that I haven't read, but have now been added to my TBR.I will say that I really enjoyed the characters, both major and minor, they were well rounded and had great little stories all of their own.

While a tad informal, I thought the writing very good, as is the characterisation even with so many people.However, there is enough references to understand the main characters in this novel and what had happened previously. At the very time when people most need books to widen their horizons, or escape from their fears, or enhance their lives, the doors are closed. A cosy story about the joy of stories, not only the books that are recommended for people who ask but the lives of the different people who receive them.
