Because it’s one of the only places where my family is all together [Gino and his wife, Jessica, share three children together, sons Luciano and Rocco and daughter Mia]. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Gino is the author of many best selling cookbooks including Gino’s Italian Escape and Gino’s Italian Express. Cooking for Phillip [Schofield] and Holly [Willoughby] is one of my favourite things to do and I consider them friends. Nicola said: “This show will see Gino immersed in the culture that fired his passion for cooking and invite viewers to join him as he celebrates the women who nurture and continue the traditions that make Italian food the centre of family life with all the warmth, humour and wisdom that brings.

Is it true you’ve also invited a film crew for ITV’s This Morning into ‘Villa D’Acampo’ in Sardinia, where you live for half the year? Ah, Spaghetti vongole… We see you cook it on the beach this week, in the first part of the This Morning segment. Biography: Born into a large family in Napoli, Gino's love of cooking developed from a young age when he was taught to cook by his mother and, at the age of 11, started working at his grandfather's restaurant. The 6×30 series from Betty TV celebrates the women who have fed Italy and shaped the country’s cuisine through the ages. Gino’s Italy: Like Mamma Used to Make was commissioned for ITV by Nicola Lloyd, Factual Entertainment commissioner and Sue Murphy, Head of Factual Entertainment. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Gino’s Italy: Like Mamma Used To Make is a six-part series that starts on ITV on Sunday September 4 at 7.

With recipes including Pasta all Genovese, Steak Fiorentine and Tortellini Gino will have his work cut out to keep up with the women running the kitchens which he visits. It's widely thought that recipes in Italian families are passed from generation to generation and it's absolutely true - much to the envy of the rest of us. In a personal food odyssey, Gino will be travelling the length and breadth of Italy to encounter local dishes . I didn’t mind the crew being in my house as I want to show viewers the simplicity of my life in Sardinia, as it’s completely different from my crazy one in the UK!Waited for four months to get it, got it this week gave it as a gift to my husband, who loves to cook and has already enjoyed three amazing dinners!

Headed by Joint Creative Directors David Harrison and Helen Cooke, Betty TV has a rich heritage of producing popular factual formats which tell incredible stories with diverse characters. In the clip below, Gino is in his hometown of Torre Del Greco and is reunited with some of the women who helped to raise him and inspired him to cook. Starting in his place of birth, Torre Del Greco in Napoli, where he learnt to cook in the kitchens of his Nonna Flora and Mamma Alba, Gino is going back to his roots to celebrate all the women whose kitchens have fuelled Italy through their incredible food. Gino helps his Aunt Lina to prepare his favourite pasta dish and it quickly becomes clear who is the true boss of the kitchen! I grow fruit and veg in my Villa and they’re the first things I eat whenever I arrive – that and spaghetti with fresh clams.
