I have Android phone (Huawei) that used to have the media control whenever my Google Home is playing something. Those with a Google Pixel or Pixel 2, Sony Xperia XZ2, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, Nokia 7 Plus, Oppo R15 Pro, Vivo X21 or Essential PH-1 can head to the Android beta test page to enrol their devices. I thought it may be connected to my phone via bluetooth, but no, it's displaying through my Google Home app. Link to Windows is easy to find in the Quick Access tray (swipe down from the top of your screen to access it).
My phone has been awful from the start but I didn't know any better as had nothing to compare it to.Since this device is connected to your office, other users connected like you may have access to it, unless a restriction on the network prevents that device from communicating with local devices, which would also prevent the owner himself/herself. I wonder if you can go to the settings from the notification on your tablet to see which app provides the notification to track down the setting on your phone. One of the smallest but most noticeable changes is the shifting of the clock to the left from the right.

I checked the settings on my Lenovo tablet that has the notificaiton on and it seems the same as my phone so no clue why the phone doesn't have it.It filters 18-rated content but also content the BBFC rates higher than 'PG', as well as other content not suitable for younger children including chat, dating and unmoderated social networking sites. I don't remember making any changes when the notification disappeared but it was so long ago who knows. If you don't find a device in your Settings app, try to connect in another way, like with Bluetooth. I thought I had figured out a way on my old phone, but it does not seem to be working with my new model. And when you’re not connected to that network anymore, you won’t see that device in your Google Home App.
I don't know if it is the same with the UK model of the phone but in Germany it loads a few seconds after first unlocking and then the P symbol comes to the status bar. I'm having a similar issue, although I think in my case I inadvertently disabled it myself and can't find where to re-enable it.I checked on my phone and I am signed in to the Google Maps app, my phone number is listed in my Google account settings and I have notifications enabled in the app. I have a iphone 6s and I have never been able to get any form of network on it except WIFI which is the only way i can use internet, when I am not able to get wifi it will say 4G at the top of the screen but it doesn't actually work.
