Such a lovely book and really mirrors my relationship with my daughter: car rides, fun in the bath, reading books in my bed, helping her wee on the loo, making her laugh, wiping her tears, singing songs!

In comparison most pages in this are not endearing -mummy wipes a grubby nose, helps them "do a wee" and tells the little kid to not "scream and shout" when they go out. As a child she loved the work of Peter Firmin, John Burningham and Gerald Rose and from as far back as she can remember she wanted to be an illustrator. not saying that is a bad thing, just not relevent and a little weird a toddler is trying to get me to love his mom) Maybe I'm just reading into this WAY to much. She has illustrated best selling series for Ladybird Books and created the illustrations for the successful Amazing Baby series from Templar Publishing. The illustrations are soft and warm, with each page depicting an animal mummy and child interacting together.Parent: a really cute concept for all the previous time a kid spends with their mum, but I did have some issues with the book.

It was quite a cute book but it’s hard to review it when you’re not a small child and don’t have much dealings with them.After that, he spent a few years teaching applied art to sixth formers, before taking the plunge as a freelance illustrator. Children will love playing with this bright and colourful board book with gentle rhyming text and vivid illustrations. After studying fine arts in Valencia, she went on to complete a teaching masters degree, before living in London whilst working as a graphic designer for advertising agencies.

This book allows small children to understand and explore the importance of their mothers and or maternal figures. The I Love You range has sold over 750,000 copies and I Love My Mummy won the Book Trust Early Years Award.This book has sentimental value for me as I have read it with all three of my children and they have all loved the closeness of reading it together and reaching out for hugs and kisses as the animals do on each page. Overally though, it's a lovely book, baby is keen on it (we have the board version to stop it being destroyed) and I love love love the pictures.
