The unit is small and light enough to manhandle from room to room, too, and small casters attached to the base make it easy to manoeuvre on hard floors. The unit will switch off once tray is full, emptying it manually looks tricky and would tend to result in spilled water. Models with the heating function can be used in the winter months to provide warmth and comfort making them great investments that can be used all year long.

This would work best with a patio door style horizontal sliding window, as opposed to the windows in our 1920's semi which are all 3-5ft higher than floor level. I have used a sheet of bubble wrap and taped it to the window the best I can and we have comfortable nights sleep all be it noisy.
