NIGHT MUSIC was a book that really delved into the harshness of life, and I couldn’t get enough of it. Other reviewers have mentioned that they didn’t really see the point in the Laura/Matt “story on the side,” but for me, I found it a nice addition. Her books include the bestsellers Me Before You, After You and Still Me, The Girl You Left Behind, The One Plus One and her short story collection Paris for One and Other Stories. Now she has to deal with the whole responsibility to turn the house into a proper place to live in where has no bathroom, fridge and water supply.

Empathized with the characters - saw all sides of the situations for all the Age groups in the narrative. Matt was as irritating as Isabel, he was an entitled, deluded, self-obsessed, boring loser who never got any comeuppance for all the crap he pulled. I’m not gonna spill more beans but I can only say the conclusion about some of the characters’ stories are not fair!

Isabel Delancey’s husband Laurent is killed in a car crash and for the first time in her life she has to provide both emotionally and financially for their two children, the teenage Kitty and her younger brother Thierry.All the drama came busting out and all of a sudden you have all the people cheating each other and fighting over a house. What makes this book special is the thoughtful manner of Moyes' characterizations and the believability of the situation. Me Before You has now sold over fourteen million copies worldwide and was adapted into a major film starring Sam Claflin and Emilia Clarke. As soon as I saw her name appear at my computer scene without reading the blurb or looking at the title, I just pushed the request button so hard and I might have broken my mouse! Unlike a lot of Moyes’ work, it does not have both a contemporary and a historical section but has a multitude of characters to get to grips with and, as always, I found the characterisation to be near perfect.

At night Isabel plays her beloved violin whilst accepting that she can’t jet off round the world performing as she used to.I like there to be more than one POV, and feel it often helps to round out the story and flesh out the figures. A while ago I set myself the challenge to read all of Jojo Moyes back catalogue after reading such gems such as Me Before You and The Girl You Left Behind. Yes, this is the same Matt who desperately wants The Spanish House for himself and although he is instantly attracted to Isabel he is determined to sabotage the house (literally, with shoddy worksmanship) while charging her extortionate amounts for the privilege.
