Some people occasionally can get a bacterial infection as a complication of a cold or flu. This kind of infection is uncommon and most people will get better by themselves without antibiotics. If you are at a high risk of complications, then your doctor may give you antibiotics. Talk to your doctor to see if antibiotics are right for you. It is not contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation, but a doctor should be consulted before taking it. People with liver or kidney problems should consult a doctor and probably should not take Paracetamol. In the same way, those people who regularly consume alcohol (three or more drinks a day, be it beer, wine, or spirits …) should be careful with Paracetamol as it could cause liver damage. Are allergic to ibuprofen or any other ingredient of the product, aspirin or other related painkillers Food and Drug Administration. FDA clarifies results of recent advisory committee meeting on oral phenylephrine. Your pharmacist and doctor will have more information on these and other medicines to be careful with or avoid while taking this medicine. How to take NUROFEN® COLD AND FLU

diuretics – medicines used to help reduce the amount of excess fluid in the body by increasing the amount of urine produced.

It's available as tablets, capsules, granules and as a liquid that you swallow. It also comes as a gel, mousse and spray that you rub into your skin. Do not take a double dose to make up for the dose that you missed. This may increase the chance of you getting an unwanted side effect. Active or history of recurrent peptic ulcer/haemorrhage (two or more distinct episodes or proven ulceration or bleeding).

Nurofen® Cold and Flu contains 200 mg of ibuprofen and 30 mg of pseudoephedrine hydrochloride as the active ingredients. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you also take the blood thinner warfarin (Coumadin), because it may increase the risk of bleeding. Zidovudine: Increased risk of haematological toxicity when NSAIDs are given with zidovudine. There is evidence of an increased risk of haemarthroses and haematoma in HIV(+) haemophiliacs receiving concurrent treatment with zidovudine and ibuprofen. Most patients who have ingested clinically important amounts of NSAIDs will develop no more than nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, or more rarely diarrhoea. Tinnitus, headache and gastrointestinal bleeding are also possible. In more serious poisoning, toxicity is seen in the central nervous system, manifesting as drowsiness, occasionally excitation and disorientation or coma. Occasionally patients develop convulsions. In serious poisoning metabolic acidosis may occur and the prothrombin time/ INR may be prolonged, probably due to interference with the actions of circulating clotting factors. Acute renal failure and liver damage may occur. Exacerbation of asthma is possible in asthmatics. Acetylsalicylic Acid (Aspirin): Unless low-dose Acetylsalicylic Acid (aspirin) (not above 75 mg daily) has been advised by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of adverse reactions (see section 4.4). As with other sympathomimetics, pseudoephedrine overdose may cause symptoms of central nervous system and cardiovascular stimulation, including: To be used with caution with other sympathomimetic agents such as decongestants, appetite suppressants and amphetamine-like psycho-stimulants (see section 4.5). Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you have allergies to any other medicines, foods, preservatives or dyes.

Ibuprofen is a propionic acid derivative, having analgesic, anti-pyretic and anti-inflammatory activity. The drug's therapeutic effects as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug are thought to result from inhibitory activity on prostaglandin synthesis. Furthermore, ibuprofen reversibly inhibits platelet aggregation. NUROFEN® COLD AND FLU is used for the fast effective temporary relief of the symptoms of colds and flu.

Sympathomimetic amines: concomitant use of phenylephrine with other sympathomimetic amines can increase the risk of cardiovascular side effects. It takes 20 to 30 minutes to work if you take it by mouth, and 1 to 2 days to work if you put it on your skin.
