Obviously, Young Adult books are THE best, but I do have a soft spot for poetry and adult books also. I think it shows that everyday we can open our eyes to things we didn’t realize about ourselves, and what we want.As the week winds down, Meredith’s grandfather, Wink, asks her what her plans for college will be now that she has come out of her shell and started healing from the grief of Claire’s death.

Seamlessly weaves in the importance of family, and by the end, I felt like I had joined the Fox family and their traditions. Perfect for fans of Jenny Han and Katie Cotugno, this is a story of loss, romance, and the time it takes to become who you really want to be. What certainly makes The Summer of Broken Rules stand out from other typical, summery YA contemporary books, it’s the Assassin game. Her entire extended family is gathering for a big summer wedding, and although Meredith is dateless after being unexpectedly dumped, she's excited to participate in the traditional Fox family game of assassin that will take place during the week of wedding festivities.But as the week progresses, she can’t help falling for him, which may cost her not only the game, but also her heart. After Claire’s death, her sister, Meredith, isolated herself from everyone except her boyfriend, Ben Fletcher. Some sadness and trauma from a past death in a car accident, which is briefly described without gore. The setting in this book was described absolutely beautifully and it was one of my favorite things about it. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

She’s determined to not let herself get distracted, not let herself be lost in another doomed relationship. luli; i wasn’t even going to talk about her bc i was pissed but i can understand why she did that things.i also really like how the game is a way for merediths family to reconnect, mourn over a loss, welcome new members, and learn how to live again. I liked seeing these big family dynamics, how everyone’s relationship was different, I loved seeing Meredith with her grandparents and more.

The fun, happiness, focusing on working as truly functional family as their eyes on the prize perfectly balance with sadness and grief they feel inside. L. Walther was born and raised in the rolling hills of Bucks County, Pennsylvania surrounded by family, dogs, and books. children hiding pies from a golden retriever, grown up men splashing water to teenagers and making videos of it, to ‘kill’ the next target people ruining wedding events, everyone yelling/hiding/running/laughing, the ambition to win, the passion of game, how everyone loves each other. Personally, I didn’t find the characters to actually be immature at all, which I found refreshing in a young adult book.Not sure about the title of the book, but the author’s previous novel and the characters are apparently mentioned in little easter eggs in this one.
